    Default Hodge Trophy 2012

    Who ya got?

I think it'll come down to Matt McDonough and David Taylor.

No I didn't forget Jordan Oliver either.

I don't see Russell getting it unless he starts to open up more. He has too many close matches. I think that I would handicap it as McD, Taylor, Oliver, Dake but I could easily see any of those four winning it.

I don't think any of those guys will be in the mix. Dake has matches where he is so flat and not dominant, he even loses. He lost to Donnie Vinson last year, whos to say he doesn't drop a random one in the regular season this year? Ed Ruth isn't consistently dominant, Kellen Russell is content to win by 1.

That's why I didn't mention those. To me it's a two man race.

What is your rationale for not putting Oliver in there?

McD, Oliver, and Taylor seem to be consensus favorites at this point. For some reason, I feel as if McD is thought of as below them, but I'm not sure why.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

Nothing in particular. He's phenomenal. I just don't think he'll be able to bonus at the rate of McD and Taylor next year. He might be the most skilled guy out there, I just see DT and McD being ferociously hungry and bonusing people at astounding rates. That's just my prediction/opinion for next year, not anything I've necessarily seen from JO that has lead me to that conclusion.

While I don't view him as "below them" I can see why people view him as a notch below. His style isn't exactly picture perfect technique or aesthetically pleasing. He is able to score in ways that arent as impressive as DT's reshots/low ankle stuff and JO's arsenal of TD's that all look awesome.

Don't know what Andrew Alton is doing next season. If RS it's a moot point, but he put more 6'rs on the board than Taylor last year and with the year under his belt, who knows He's a pinner where the others are not.
Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

Alton is a pinner no doubt but I'm pretty sure he's going to take some losses next year. He has Russell and Marion in his conference. I dont think he'll win it all though he could place top 5 no question.
