I don't think the singlet is holding back wrestling, so I say keep it. My wife says we should keep it as well, but for a different reason.

One of my big selling points to get guys to join the team is how women love to see guys in singlets. However, some rock them better then others.

Guys on THE MAT were claiming that the singlet was thought by some people to be "GAY" AND that it spreads skin problems & health issues more.

I am sure you could make a top that wouldn't ride up. I personally like this idea.

I think any team that does it could be the fashion equivalent of the Fab Four...

I say a return to t-shirts and jeans!

The only photo that I have of myself wrestling was a picture in the newspaper of me wrestling in a Junior Olympics qualifying tournament, with my opponent wrestling in a white t-shirt and jeans!

    Still have the photo today!
    UNI Panthers...Because it's just right.

Didn't Lehigh wear something similar a couple years ago?

For some reason that reminds me of this time I was watching some granby roll videos on YouTube and in the comments this kid said those moves were "for noobs" and to see good wrestling one should look at his channel. He was this chubby 12 year old in a singlet and shorts wrestling kids in t-shirts and shorts. Still not as bad as that

Our youth wrestlers wear the two piece singlets and they have both good points and bad. I think the two piece singlets look sharper and as a dad, I like the skin coverage of the two piece better than the one piece. Our CLub is thinking about going back to the singlet (Coach is old school)...and if we do, I'm going to get my son a few under-armour style shirts for underneath.

I never used to wear a singlet when I was a kid. Don't know if it was because my parents couldnt afford to buy one or what but I was usually out there in shorts and tshirt with some old school hand me down white and black asics that were fraying at the top. I looked like a goof ball standing on top of the podium with the big trophy. I have a feeling all the other kids thought I wasnt any good until they wrestled me.

Even in high school if we went to takedown tournaments (which wasnt very often) I would wear shorts and tshirt. More for style than anything else though.

I wouldnt be against changing it up if there were something better than singlets out there, but so far I have not seen anything.
