Your out of your mind if you think I'm bias towards a guy because he's the current coach. Lincoln Mac and Doug Schwab are my two favorite Hawks of all time. Lincolns lack of matches arent only because of a late career injury. He didn't have the varsity spot until late in his freshman season.

Why arent you arguing for Joe Scarpello to be on the list above Perry? Same NCAA average and a better win pct.

I have been reading this forum for 3.5 years. I have learned a lot and enjoyed the writing. You gentlemen know much more than I do about the sport. Would any of you be brave enough to post an NCAA top ten list? I would also enjoy that post and the following additions, but I lack the knowledge to start one myself.

My knowledge consists of Iowa, UNI and Iowa State. Maybe I'll try to do one for those three schools in the future. Would be fun to see someone try to make a top ten of all time NCAA. We'd be fighting like a love triangle on meth.

    1. Cael Sanderson
    2. Dan Gable

That's as far as I am willing to go.

JensenS has done one previously and it's really good. If he comes around I'm sure he would post the link.
    Go Hawkeyes.

That wasn't because Lincoln wasn't the better guy, they just weren't sure if they wanted to pull his shirt or not. Am I not right about that?

That's a pretty good start. I think to do it right and not leave a whole lot of poeple out you might have to do a top 20. I think the lists would vary depending on the age of the person doing it. You might have some old school guys that put more emphasis on the 70's and 80's compared to the younger guys who have not seen all of the old timers. On the other hand, the old timers might get the shaft because freshman were not allowed to wrestle at some schools (or was it at all schools?).

This is a very themat.comish thread but theres not much going on right now and it makes for good discussion.

Troy Steiner was at the weight. So they were sitting pretty good. Gable thought the team would be better with Steiner at 134 and Lincoln at 142. But it still doesnt change the fact that he wasnt in the lineup most of the year.

I have no problem with Lincoln being #1 on anyones list. Maybe tomorrow he'd be #1 on my list. The top three guys were so dominant that they could probably be interchanged and nobody would argue except VA. I should probably edit my list and add Nate Moore somewhere.

I seriously doubt I'm the only person who think that Lincoln has a good case for number 1.
    Go Hawkeyes.
