I'd thought he was in the finals but I couldn't swear to it.

So Stieber dominates through to the finals and loses 1-1,4-6 to a wrestler that was literally seconds away from winning a Senior World title - not too shabby. Asgarov is narrowly the #2 60kg guy for Azerbaijan right now, but he's still considered right around top 5 in the world and will undoubtedly be their representative in the future as he adjusts to the weight and gets better.

Anyone want to speculate on Stieber back at the national level. He's not eligible for an Olympic Redshirt, right? Will we see him at the trials anyway?...and at what weight?

My thoughts too, that loss might actually be Stieber's best match. Asgarov is a monster! He definitely wrestled Lebedev in the finals of Sr. Worlds last year- they exchanged clinch wins and Lebedev scored on a push out in the 3rd to win.

Stieber vs Asgarov. The Azeri was the better wrestler, scored some chintzy points on himself by rolling across his own back. What an awesome shrug-by he has!

Yeah, upon seeing the match it's clear that Asgarov is a level or two above Stieber - but Logan had a phenomenal tournament up until that finals match. I wonder how he would do against the Turk or Russian who both gave Asgarov a good match, through my red white and blue colored lenses I would like to think that he matches up better against them and would have a good chance to beat them. Asgarov is a fun wrestler to watch and should be a force at 60kg for years to come, but MAN that mustache is gross, Abbas Jadidi would be ashamed.

I don't know how Stieber can expect to win World and Olympic titles wearing headgear.
