It's conceivable that ISU/UNI would only win 1 match against the hawks and that's Jerome Ward over whoever Iowa puts out there. Loder with a chance over GG, though I wouldnt predict it agian.

That would set ISU recruiting back 10 years!!!

I think it's gonna happen. Not because KJ is doing something wrong, but because Schwab is doing a lot of things right with UNI.

It's a little early for rundowns like that between Iowa and UNI. Neither of the lineups are even close to being set. However I think Loder has a great chance of beating Gambrall again. I love Grant, but I cant help but think that his reg season is a better indicator of where he is at as a wrestler than his tremendous tournament. Vice Versa for Loder.

I think Grambrall is a certified dark horse. I remember watching him wrestle during the regular season and thinking "This guy could be great, but someone needs to punch him really hard in the head". He needs attitude. We'll see.

UNI will also have Rob Jillard, formerly of Liberty, at 125lbs this season. He was an NCAA qualifier his freshmen season (2010-2011) and is eligible to compete right away due to Liberty dropping their wrestling program. He should be able to challenge for a spot.

Yes, UNI is the "friendly neighbor," mainly because they've never really been much of a threat to Iowa in most sports that they compete with them in.

However, don't be fooled that Iowa fans are "all love" with UNI, as they also do a pretty good job of dissing UNI and their athletes, especially during head to head competition (just ask UNI's footbaall coach Mark Farley about how things went the last time they visited Iowa in Iowa City). I've been in the game long enough (as have many on here) to recall the heat that I took for years from Iowa fans for being a Panther fan and supporter, which my support is ALWAYS through thick and thin. For whatever strange reason, that is a foreign concept to many Iowa fans.

With that said, the lineup. The only certain spots right now is Bonin at 157, Wolf at 174, and Loder at 184. As for the rest, we'll see. There's going to be a lot of "figuring" in regard to that, and I suspect that the lineup will change and rotate throughout the year.

Jeez Ban, a hawkeye fan creates and writes a good preview of whats to come for UNI and you write that shit about Iowa fans? Don't kid yourself. UNI wouldnt get any better treatment anywhere else they played in football. That crap happens at EVERY GAME! This is wrestling and it's a whole different animal. Thanks for killing my UNI buzz. Well, someone from out of state was inquiring about the UNI, Iowa, and ISU "relationships," noting that Iowa and UNI seem to have a "friendly neighbor" relationship between them. I merely pointed out that, yes, that is true to an extent, but on another level, it's not as friendly as it may appear to be.

Simple statement of fact, with no harm or foul intended, at least from my angle.
