Thread: Morgan Mcintosh

    Default Morgan Mcintosh

Just laid waste to the entire Fargodome at 215. Apparently weighed in at 201. He looked real big, but I don't know how much more weight you can put on the kid as he's not tall.

Think his boxy frame will hurt him collegiately?

Anyone care to hypothesize a Camp v. Mcintosh meeting that very well could occur this coming season?

I didn't see Mcintosh but I would imagine that he could make 197 VERY easily and probably even 184 if he wanted to. I think that Mcintosh wins the majority of the meetings but I would LOVE to see the matchup.

No I don't either, does Mcintosh not want to take a RS at all? If he does take a rs year that would give him some time to get up to 97 if need be, even if he's only there for a year. Who knows though if Mcintosh is as good as a lot of people say he could be then maybe Q won't have the choice?

Btw JB & Willie Saylor on the call on the final...(HEEZ GUD...)

I would probably rank 197 like this right now:

    1) Kilgore-Kent St (Beat Simaz 2xs, came up from 184 in 2010) RS? Gold says 85% chance...
    2) Simaz-Cornell (last years preseason #1)
    3) Byers-Okie St (The transfer that neither PSU nor Iowa got)
    4) Powless-Indiana (most improved 197 last year IMO, my pick to B10s)
    5) Yohn-Minny (Tuff on top, white guy on feet)
    6) Wilps (won Midlands) or Thommuseit (RS?)-Pitt
    7) Burak-Penn (Didnt AA but break out year last year)
    8) Campo-tOSU (Super Frosh PSU didn't get)
    9) Kennedy-Lehigh (Plugger)
    10) Ward-ISU (Talented underachiever)

??? - LeBlanc (WYO) or Honeycutt (Edinboro) moving up from 184?

If MM goes 197 I think he is, like I said a RD12er if he pushes it. Campo who has been up at that weight for awhile has the edge he but I am actually really not sure if he will see the podium as my hunch is the guy will be injury prone, (hunch no data). It is no-brainer that a RS year will benefit MM but the staff will be looking at when. The logic is looking like the best thing for the team would be for MM to go for it this year.

PSU's record at 197 last year was 0-8 in the B10 in duals & 5-14 overall while being out-scored 17 to 59 in team points. I am pretty sure that if Cael gives MM a shot at 197 PSU will improve at that weight WHICH could be the KEY between REPEATING or NOT.

I dont think many(sane) people would think hes better than a returning national champ as a true freshmen. He really(and this is far from his fault) hasnt wrestled that many studs at this point. So we dont know how he will do for sure.

I know you're talking about folk, but he has beaten Ruth and some other big college names in freestyle and that was more than a year ago.
