Default D1CW Class of 2012 Top 100 Released

    2012 D1CW Top 100 Seniors - D1 College Wrestling

    1. Taylor Massa
    2. Jason Tsirtsis
    3. Jimmy Gulibon
    4. Mark Grey

    5. Gage Harrah

Might wind up with a little more exciting of a recruiting season this year as the only guys in the top 10 who have committed so far are #9 John Meeks, and #10 Brandon Kingsley.

He might not have officially committed, but you have to think Massa is bound to be a Michigan man.

    Go Hawkeyes.

I have a gut feeling Tsirtsis is Iowa bound. But I haven't really delved into it

Some have suggested that, but I think someone pretty connected said this is probably not the case.

You could be right, who knows.

I only say that cause when it comes to getting brothers, Iowa is the best. The Perry's being the exception that proves the rule. Besides the fact Tom Brands is hands down the best recruiter in the nation.

Tom didn't recruit Alex, he was Zalesky era I believe.

Freshman year was '04-'05 according to his Iowa bio. Tom Brands was the head recruiter under Zalesky up until he left for Virginia Tech. I was just thinking about that cause I am reading "Four days to Glory" and Jay Borschel talks about how Brands could run circles around Zalesky when it came to recruiting.

Zalesky was the coach but Brands did a lot of the recruiting. Brands is a much better recruiter than Zalesky was. Not trying to diminish Z, just stating what is widely regarded as fact.

Brands could not only lead the horse to water; He could make that SOB drink!

Alex got ridden by the fans pretty hard for being such a big recruit and, by most accounts, costing a full ride for five years, and being one of the reasons that Blanton decomitted. The Tsirtsis family may have a bitter taste left in their mouths after Alex's last couple of seasons. I wish that was not the case but I kinda think it is.

I had the same thought. After Alex's up and downs (and only 1 AA finish) I wouldn't make the assumption that Jason would head to Iowa just because his brother went there.
