Well, here goes nothing- what you are talking about is total weight gain, not just muscle. As I think someone else mentioned, this its probably good for wrestlers since they wil want to drop some of the weight later anyway.
Continuing on about bone density accounting for some of the weight gain further reinforces the bad information you are putting out there. Low density women can increase bone density measures up to about 5percent with 2 years of training. Wrestlers would increase much less because they are already high density. Ignoring that fact, that density increase would equate to a change of about .03 pounds in that 2 year span.

This is a discussion of semantics, specifically weight versus muscle. That much weight can be gained. Not that much muscle.
I was quoting QW when I said 13 pounds of muscle in 2 months. You were the one who assumed that it was literal & refuted it. I already know from being the nutrition field for 20 years that what you are saying is not true ( that you could ONLY gain 13 lbs of muscle in 2 months with steroids). It might be difficult but not impossible.

Tony Nelson is another member of the ?physical specimen? club in the heavyweight class. Pretty ripped guy, but a bit undersized. He had a lot of good wins last year but definitely struggles with the bigger guys(evinced by his loss to the mediocre but massive Josh Wine of VMI). Still needs a takedown on his feet and it?s going to be hard to come by if you ask me. Is great on top at both riding and turning. As talented as he is, without some serious neutral development, I think Tony will be stuck at this spot without much room to get much higher.

I am curious to hear your opinion as to why Tony developing a takedown from his feet is going to be hard to come by.

Just against elite/big guys, but the reasoning is simple: He's pretty small, and not that explosive on the feet, going to be hard to get takedowns that way. Not saying he won't be a 4xaa, but I think his neutral game will be what keeps him from getting to the next level.
To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.

I do recognize that Quentin said it. That is why I pointed out that what he actually said (put on 13 pounds of muscle) was probably inaccurate, though the idea of total weight gain in that range is probably reasonable. I have no problem with him saying it; it is not his job to know the difference. I point out the difference so that people understand what is really going on.

KR, if you have done this many times and can do it easily, do you have any body fat info to show how much weight added was muscle and how much was not? Since no one who has published in the ACSM or NSCA journals has shown that rate of increase in muscle mass (and those guys know a lot about strength and conditioning), I have my doubts. If you haven't/don't have access to body fat info, feel free to let me know when you will start someone on your program. If you can get him here, I'll see if I can arrange before & after body fat testing.

I'd be happy to be shown wrong. I'll buy dinner.

After age 18 it becomes harder to put on lean muscle Mass-w/out the use of anabolic steroids or HGH ,IMO, it would be impossible to put on 13 lb.s of lean muscle mass in so short a time frame-maybe if QW had been sucking down but that is NOT the case .
You know, I think I would rather be a man than a god . We don't need anyone to believe in us. We just keep going anyhow. It's what we do.
