He used the silent treatment on some guys at ISU as well. Your either in or out with him and if he thinks your out (you don't even have to do anything to get there) then you might as well leave town.

I have always liked Bubba but I notice that Cael is mum on any public comments about it. He seems to be pretty flat on it. That says a lot to me.

We all go through injustices in life but the fact that he goes on about it in a denigrating manner, shows me that perhaps he is not entirely clean on the subject. I can understand going after someone verbally if that person has a good public image but you think he is a liar OR if someone somehow threatens your life or livelihood, but it appears that Cael's choices have worked out well for both himself, PSU & Bubba.

I'm not a fan of this kind of rant. My feeling is that Bubba should be a bigger person than this, especially now that he has his national championship and revenge. Time to move on. Perhaps he could work on his writing, too. (So should I ...)

That said, I think that Factory51 is on to something. All these top coaches have different styles and personalities. Like Brands, Smith, or Robinson, Cael Sanderson is not the best coach for every single recruit out there, and its not just a matter of sufficient talent or character. Finding the right "fit" in a program is pretty essential, and there is more to that than a coach's win/loss record or number of championships.

I think Bubba needs to get a life. As a college wrestler his career is done and over with. There should be a new chapter in his life that he should be writing. For the most part I thought he had big dreams to be a MMA fighter and not a YouTube Star. I believe that Bubba had it made in Happy Valley where he could just skirt by on his talent. No one to keep him in check with his mind set that I am the big man on campus attitude, until Cael showed up and rocked the boat. Was Bubba wronged? I do not know, but life is not a big bowl of Wheaties that we eat every morning. We need and do changes things up, and that is exactly what Penn State did.
What Bubba needs to see is that in the end both wrestler and coach got what they wanted. Bubba won his individual national title, and Cael won his team national title. You would think this would be the end of this. But if Bubba feels that he is still wronged, then he must continue. I say lace up your wrestling shoes and hit the freestyle circuit and wrestle Cael head to head, maybe then Bubba will feel better about himself.

Being from VA I really like Bubba, I think he was/is good for the sport, someone that usually brought "good" attention to it. I also agree with one of the previous posters that said that there was probably some wrong on both sides, was it wrong for Cael to not let Bubba red shirt? maybe, was it wrong for Bubba to mess up his grades? maybe, was it wrong on each side? yes but in the end I think Bubba felt like he was kind of made a fool of and he feels like he is the star that was wronged (think if Darrion Caldwell had been forced to leave NC State after he'd won his title, I think this was Bubbas mind set honestly) and he still feels that way now even after he got his title. I think Cael returning to wrestling and winning the WTT sparked this rant obviously and once Cael was getting some more good publicity, more than Bubba after pinning Taylor from PSU for the National Title (which to him and a lot of people out shined Cael and PSUs Team Title) then Bubba felt like he had to steal back the spot light...just how I took it. I still like Bubba but thinks he needs to move on from PSU and Cael, and I still like Cael, he's the best wrestler in the last 20 years and I've grown up watching him...who doesn't like Cael other than Bubba J anyway? I look forward to seeing if Bubba can make it in MMA and if Cael can win another Olympic gold while trying to put together a run of team titles still...

Factory brings up some good points that people probably arent aware of. I know one person that feels this way. I'm sure there are others.

Having said that, I thought what Bubba said was funny the first time I read it but I think he should get over it and move on. Obviously he is in a better situation at ASU than he was at PSU. I mean, Tempe vs Happy Valley; Blonde bombshells vs hairy mountain goats; national title vs runner up. Move on Bubba.

On behalf of all of the hairy mountain goats here on campus, I say this to Herkey: You need to visit - I think you might like what you see...

Ha! I've been to ISU many times and while mountain goats arent as big as beef cows, they're always on full feed.

Actually, I've never been on a college campus that didn't have a ton of nice looking ladies. But I've been to ASU for a visit when I was in high school and was blown away. The quantity of quality was unreal.

Didn't mean to hijack this thread, but Bubba should relax and focus on himself. Everybody will get screwed over one way or another in their lifetime so you can't let it bother you. Get out there and become a star in MMA and let Cael do his thing. Hope they both become world champs.
