    Default Olympic Redshirts-Who takes them?

Without getting into the whole "who's eligible" conversation, just wanted to know who you guys view will take an Oly Redshirt next year.

I think Howe will take one personally, and I believe he'll really benefit from it. He looked great against Burroughs if you ask me, and I think he could really challenge Burroughs with a year of freestlye focus(he's clearly our best challenger to JB)

Don't know about Dake, Stieber, etc, but wondering what other peoples thoughts are.

I could see Dom Bradley and Kilgore taking them, though I don't think either of them would make the team. I actually think Logan would have a great chance of making the team if he focused on freestyle full time for a year, but I don't think he will RS.

Hanke might; that might help Oregon State fit both Jack and Fortune into the lineup (not sure if Jack could cut that though).

Isn't a wrestler's eligibility a pretty important aspect of whether or not they'd choose to take an Olympic redshirt?

As of right now I've removed Howe and Dom Bradley from my AA picks because I'm guessing that they take Olympic shirts. I'd be shocked as well if Hanke doesn't take one.

I was trying to avoid RYou's explanations and breakdowns...but you are probably right.

OK, so I'll ask. Who in the NCAA qualifies to take an Oly RS this year? I know the list is floating around here somewhere.

Of those guys I think that Howe certainly will and Bradley probably should if he wants a shot at making the Olympic team. After watching this last weekend I think he's got a chance to beat anyone except Delegnav(sp). Dake maybe should too. You never know what that kid is capeable of. He could pull it off if he focused on freestyle full time.

As an OSU fan I would LOVE to see Hanke take an Oly RS year. Especially if that allows Jack of Fortune to get down to 197. I know that Jack is not a big Hwt but I'm not sure he can get down there. I think personally that Fortune has a better shot at getting down there personally.

Jack is really really tall, probably be a big pull for him to get down to 197.
