D1CW 2006 Recruiting Rewind
2006 Recruiting Rewind - D1 College Wrestling
Earl did this last year for the class of 2005 and it was really cool to look at then, this one is no different.

5. Jordan Frishkorn (Oklahoma State)
6. Billy Murphy (Iowa)
7. Mack Lewnes (Cornell)
8. Dave Rella (Penn State)

10. Jon Reader (Iowa State)
Top 10 Performers
1. Jordan Burroughs (Nebraska...#94 recruit)

Will be really interested when he does this for the class of 07 next year given the struggles that the top two guys in that class wound up having in college.
Re: D1CW 2006 Recruiting Rewind
I think Cejudo should be #1 on the top performers list. I know what he did wasn't in college but the competition might have been a tad bit harder.
Is there a criteria for ranking the top ten performers, or is this Earls opinion?
Re: D1CW 2006 Recruiting Rewind
Forgot about some of those guys. What ended up happening with Jordan Frishkorn? I know his brother was at OSU and got injured.

Its criteria based. He lists it (certain achievements are worth a certain number of points) in the article.
On Cejudo, I agree...
Re: D1CW 2006 Recruiting Rewind
5 out of the top 10 recruits did not AA (6 if you count Cejudo). Crazy.
Re: D1CW 2006 Recruiting Rewind
Was Cejudo a legitimate recruit at the time? Did he show any interest in wrestling at the NCAA level (even after an Olympic shot)?

I dont think so. He moved to the OTC when he was 16, so that tells ya he was pretty freestyle oriented early on.

In his book he said he never liked school and wasn't very good at it. He jumped at the chance to go to the OTC because it was the first time in his life he would have a bed and a pillow. Angel was an undefeated 4-time state champ but couldn't didn't get recruited because of grades, too.
