That's what I'm getting at. In what I saw here, he was definitely good at, and ready to, work one-on-one with wrestlers in the room. That makes him very ready to be an assistant coach. He was in no way ready to lead a program in an organizational way. His teamwork was at about a 1/10. A head coach needs to build a good team.

Im my opinion, associate head is usually a title used to keep someone around as a highly-paid assistant. That person is usually not responsible for running the program.

I give Perry 0.05 years of experience. He would have to build an exceptional coaching staff around himself - and hand off almost all of the administrative and leadership roles - to be a head coach.

Illinois is about as good a head coaching job I can see a guy with his credentials and his age land at this point.

Is that true? How old was Gable when he started at Iowa? Just curious...he looked pretty young to me. But then, everyone looks pretty young to me.
