In my opinion there will never be another Cael.

And even if there is someone who duplicates Sanderson's feat, it's something you won't be able to predict. Heck, nobody would have predicted Sanderson would have been as good as he was after high school or his red shirt season. And tons of wrestlers who had even higher accolades to Cael when they wrestled their first varsity match never came close.

Chance lives just down the road, the high school is about 2 miles from the MD/PA line. I found it interesting that he's the heaviest freshmen state champion in PA history. Pretty amazing. DC

Kid's Kolat trained. Gonna do big things I'm sure.

However, I remember saying similar things about Chris Phillips fabulous freshmen season. Since then Chris hasn't been able to do too much.

Chance seems to have a completely different makeup/focus than Chris does but I can't help remember saying crazy things after Chris' Ironman match w/ Roddy and seeing things go very differently than I thought they would.
To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.

Phillips didn't do much in the summer besides Fargo and his national level competition seemed to be lacking. Marsteller is out at the OTC before the summer starts, talking about how it feels like home and that he can't wait to go back.... seems like a major difference in commitment.

Solanco freshman Thomas Haines won the 215-pound crown later in the evening. So it was a short lived heaviest ever freshman champ...

It seems that Marstellar set up an exhibition freestyle match this past weekend against JM Staudenmeyer, (from Plymouth-Whitemarsh, outside of Philly, who won PIAA AAA title @ 171 in fairly impressive fashion). JM won over Chance 1-0, 1-0. Chance was giving up 20 lbs. Evidently it stopped the entire tournament to watch it. Guess wrestling kids his own size isn't tough enough for him.

Btw JM is a senior, a 4x State Qualifer, was ranked #11 nationally at 171, was 48-0 until he lost to #1 Storley of SD @ the Dapper Dan 3-1. He was also the Beast of the East champ as well. I believe he is going to UNC.

    Definitely shades of Kolat....

Apparently they had some nice scrambles but the only points were off clinches. Marstellar did weigh in at 171 but I seriously doubt he still can't make 152 let alone 160.

Um thats a double negative so did you mean that you doubt he will make 152 again?
