I have set some personal goals for the wrestling season. After you've read the blog about those goals, I'd really appreciate any suggestions you have to help me achieve them.

I plan on going to quite a few Hawkeye meets this year, maybe a Cyclone meet or two. Hell, I'd be up for a Coe meet as well. Hopefully I see you there.

If you're not going to the Kauffman-Brand Open, Coe has a tournament on Nov. 17.
I went to the tournament about 3 years ago. A lot of tough wrestling. Great DIII tournament. If I have time, I may go this year. I'll let you know if I do.

Wow! I don't know what I expected when I wrote this call to arms. I just got back from a client meeting and checked my email and the readership numbers on the blog. In less than 48 hours readership has surpassed the previous weekly total - which means many of you forwarded the link as challenged. I also had 2 emails from fans that told me they had added on to their season ticket orders and one from a reader who is buying NWCA tickets and sending them to me for giveaway (my high school nephews in Salem are handling this for me).
I'll bite...I am going to go attend a Gopher dual when I am home for the holidays if possible, if not, I am going to go ahead and catch an Apple Valley highschool dual.
In addition, I have already gone ahead and made plans to attend NCAA's in St. Louis. I will be dragging my 6 ft 4 inch highschool football buddy to attend as well as he will be putting me up for the tournament at his place in St. Louis. In that way, I am increasing attendance next year by two although I will be clad in god awful Maroon and Gold and most likely reek of cheap beer.

Here's a life lesson from ol' GG - always buy good beer.
I'm a big fan of your season ticket goal. I go to as many Ohio State and Ohio University meets as scheduling allows (I work every other Sunday and last year it seemed that most of the home meets were on Sunday's I was working) and I always take at least one or two people with me. Some have never wrestled and others (like my sisters) grew up watching me, but it's not something they'd think to do on their own. In my opinion, just going to the meets and showing support is the single best way to help the sport.
Right now I'm dating a WVU grad, so I'll think up a reason to get to Morgantown for a few meets this year.
I just may be getting your nephews some extra tickets to the all-star since I can't make it myself. Great idea, btw.
I will make all the home duals for Gophers.
Big Tens in Minneapolis.
Nationals in St. Louis. (hope my wife dosn't read this)
A trip or two down to Ames to watch the Cyclones
Maybe Fort Dodge for the KAufman Open
Rochester for "The Clash" to watch the Dons.
