That is a true statement Caldwell spanked him on the big stage.

He did win last year but it was a close decision against Palmer

Kyle wins this if its the finals at the NATIONALS..........
Metcalf is a two time national champion in three appearances. Kyle Dake is very good and impressive, but he's not yet as good as Metcalf. He has yet to face anyone as good as Darrion Caldwell. And before you even make the stupid comment, Caldwell this year is a shadow of himself after the injuries.

I am not a math major but Kyle is 2 for 2 in the finals and Brent was 1 for 2 in his first 2 finals and they are tied for titles and Kyle is only a sophmore....You are not giving Kyle enough props .
Wait till next year when he is a 3xer unless he gets hurt.........

Or if he wrestles David Taylor? Exactly. I'm not taking anything at all away from Kyle. I'm just saying that in a hypothetical match between the two, you can't just say "well, Kyle has two championships in two tries, and Metcalf had two in three tries, so Kyle is better and would beat him." Metcalf was better than Dake is now. Dake may surpass him by the end of his career, who knows? We'll have to see. Dake will probably end up more accomplished than Metcalf, but that doesn't mean he's better or would beat him. And I think most people here would agree with me.

Bubba Jenkins, Jordan Burroughs, Darrion Caldwell, Josh Churella, Dustin Schlatter, JP O'Connor, Lance Palmer.

All those studs and Metcalf came out on top.

Which year did Dake win a weight comparable to that?

Dake beat a complete stud in Montell Marion as a true freshman. Cant get any better than that right?

Metcalf is awesome, no doubt, but I don't see anyone beating Dake after seeing him at nationals the last 2 years. No one scored a point on him this year at Nationals. 5 matches no one could figure out how to take him down or escape him. Metcalf never dominated like that. The kid is slick, but tough as hell, and his ride is unbelievable. He or Bubba should have won the Hodge Trophy this year.

Not sure if you know what the Hodge is.
