Thread: Can Penn State Repeat?

If both Penn State and Iowa are 100% healthy at next year's NCAA tournament it should be an awesome race. Iowa returns almost everyone plus Byers and Evans. Penn State returns everyone except Patacky, but I think Megaludis or Martelotti will score more than the 1 point Patacky scored this year. The key for Penn State will be if they can find suitable replacements for Alton and Taylor at 141 and 157, if Alton RS and Taylor moves up. Also, If Ruth and Wright can stay at their current weights this would be a big plus IMO.

I think if McIntosh can bulk up to 197 range this offseason it would be a great addition to the lineup... I have heard he doesn't have the frame for it, but sometimes you never know....

Mcintosh=too short for 197. Kids a 74/84 without a few more inches height wise.

In your dream...Does Gene Smith wear a sweater vest too?
Selling your championship ring for a tattoo is not cheating, it is merely a business transaction. And in my dream, the Steiber brothers are wearing a sweater vest as they hoist the trophy over their heads as thousands chant O-S-U. I think even confused Okie State fans join in on the chant as they see a tattoo artist with an NCAA trophy sitting next to him, giving Jordan Oliver another tat on the overhead scoreboard.

If Chad Beatty could be a viable 197, so could Morgan McIntosh.

This is my PSU wish lineup:

125 Martelotti/Megaludis (would like this to be Martelotti, and let Megaludis redshirt)

    133 Long

    141 Sherlock (A Alton redshirt)

    149 Molinaro/D Alton

    157 Molinaro/D Alton

    165 Taylor

    174 Cowburn

    184 Ruth

    197 Wright

    285 Wade

In my admittedly biased eyes, there are no holes in this lineup, and potentially all 10 weights qualify for nationals. The question marks are Sherlock at a still very tough 141, and Wright up at 197. I think Quentin would be competitive at 197, but would he be able to make Top 3? Not sure...

Really hope they sign a heavyweight, as Wade is entering his senior year.

Right, he "traded" it for a tattoo to a tattoo artist who happens to collect and sell Ohio State sports memorabilia. But that's for another board.

I do however think it would be a nice gesture of the Steiber brothers to hoist the championship trophy for the Hawks next year. They'll probably have fresh muscles and plenty of energy from the chicken at the BBQ. The crowd will be chanting something else though.

Or, have Ruth maintain 174, put McIntosh in at 184, Wright at 197 and Wade at 285. At that point, the back half would be incredibly strong.

Not just the back half, the whole lineup would be incredibly strong.
