New coach at Oklahoma will be?

Terry took the UTC job and from interviews it sounded like he didn't enjoy a lot of the red tape stuff that is involved with it. Not sure if he's seeking another opportunity or not...

It was simply message board fodder, but for awhile people were talking as if it's pretty much Henson's job. Sounds like that may not be true

I've seen it both ways plenty of times in other sports including right there are Oklahoma with Bob Stoops and his brothers. None have huge success after moving on, but that is football.
Tough to imagine Cody Sanderson going against Cael. Same thing with the Paulson brothers - they seem to do well working and training together.

I think Tom and Terry could seperate thier brotherhood for wrestling. If Terry wanted the job he would go about it at full speed no matter who was coaching on the other side of the mat. However, I have no idea of Terry is interested in the position. He turned down the Iowa State interview offer two years ago.

I am sure I wouldn't be alone but if Terry went to Norman I would be shocked. However they did go east to get Spates, (Slippery Rock grad) so not sure they wouldn't go somewhere else to get another HC. What's Metzger doing these days?

Spates was the Cornell head coach before he went to Oklahoma.

What about Frayer?

I'm sure Frayer would LOVE to have that job. He's not getting the HC at Wisconsin when Barry is done and Oklahoma was good to him in the past.

I really cant see it going to anyon other than Henson unless he's just not head coaching material. He's elevated the level of every program he's been at.

I hope that Frayer stays at Sconny. He impact will be enormous with the new middlewt recruits coming in.

How many programs has Sammy been at? What was the longest time at any one program?

He does not have he mental maturity to run a program as head coach. Too much baggage and a history of 'coach and run', which does not inspire confidence on the part of administrators. Then there is the temper problem, everything but holding his breath until he turns blue.

It won't be Sammy unless Oklahoma admins are sipping too much moonshine.

I believe it will be Sammie Henson, the main reason why he's been moving around so much was that he's looking to become a head coach. And I have been coached by him personally and have never seen him have any signs of having anger management problems.

But on the other hand Mark Schultz did do a great job with BYU when they had a program and is an UO Alumn.
