Burroughs is so good that I think he's our front runner for 2012 at 74kgs.

Agreed- so long as he gives it 100% effort and trains with great freestylers. The Paulson brothers (among others) may not be as talented at JB, but they are smart tactical freestylers who will probably try to crowd Burroughs and try to back him up into the zone or get him to take bad, counter-able shots. Burroughs needs to practice freestyle-specific situations from now on.

While watching the NCAAs I was obviously impressed with his leg attack, but wondered how that would translate to freestyle. What is his history in freestyle?

Clean, hard shots such as Burroughs take translate well to freestyle. A good freestyle wrestler will often try to counter a shot by locking around the waist or crotch and rolling his opponent over. The Paulsons, currently the top ones at 74, are especially adept at this so it is important to take good, high-percentage shots and finish them cleanly (not much rolling around on the mat if possible). I think that as long as Burroughs works out the technical details and wrestles smart his style translates very well.

Burroughs might want to watch some video of Uzbekistans Sokhiev, a guy who was won multiple world medals with a lightning fast blast double.

Burroughs wrestled in the jr. worlds and didnt medal, beyond that I dont know his freestyle history.
