He was monstrously big, and no, he wasn't short. I saw him standing right beside Quentin Wright. Wright was about 2" taller, but Dake was just as thick.

    Dake is huge at 149.

It seems like at least two of Dake, Howe and Taylor- all pretty elite wrestlers- are headed for a collision course in the future. Should be some pretty good matches ahead.

Good grief, Wright is like 6'3''.

I know--he was the tallest of all the NCAA Champs (look at one of the pictures of all of them). Dake is just huge.

Is Golds firsthand opinion proof enough Goofer?

I think Dake would be a good sized 65 if he spent time eating and lifting instead of the starvation routine he probably went through to just make 149.

I've never really heard of Dake being referred to as "not tall" before reading this thread. For those looking for conclusive evidence one way or the other maybe the picture that I've included can help provide it.

    Nice find, Jensens.

By that picture, Dake is anywhere from 5'10 to 6'. He loomed over Molinaro and with that kind of advantage I don't think the Tank would have fared too much better had he picked neutral. I think 157 is a good weight for him next year as he seemed pretty fat and happy during and after those finals at ~165. I think he was probably running at about 163. At any rate a 5 to 8 lb cut shouldn't be too bad for him.

But this kid can't seem to stop growing.

Based on that picture Dake also has about 5 inches on Zach Rey. NCAA really needs to re-think their weight certification program.
