While I was heartbroken for DT I'm glad its over and he can just focus on the future.

Being a ASU and PAC-10 fan.....well, the pin just made my weekend.
Congrats to Bubba and ASU fans.

I'm sure Taylor will rebound and have and outstanding college wrestling career, best of luck to him.

Many congratulations to Bubba. That victory must have been so sweet for him, especially considering how much grief he received last year.

While I think you are exactly right, I do think he had this coming when he lost. I think David Taylor is good for our sport. Several fans including myself don't like how he acts and these aren't all Iowa fans by the way. I will never question his talent but I do question his antics while on the mat. I think everyone knows what I am talking about. He is REALLY cocky and it shows BIG TIME. I suggest he take some lessons from his coach on how to act while destroying everyone but Bubba Jenkins. I even seen Cael after his Semi's match shake his head in disappointment on how DT was acting. The announcers even commented on it during the telecast. I had a huge smile come to my face when he was stuck because he was acting like he was untouchable. I always cheered for Cael as he just went about his business and acted like he had been there before. I am not 1 for celebrations in wrestling or any sport for that matter.

DT is cocky and you were cheering for Bubba?!? The guy that did the LeBum James inpersination. The guy who shot the ankle bracelets. Who is cocky?!?

I never said I liked Bubba Jenkins. I was cheering for him because I think DT thought he was untouchable. If you read my post I don't like all these cheesy celebrations including the shooting of ankle bands. Bubba is as cocky as DT but Bubba has been beat before which DT hadn't. Like I said in my post Cael always acted with class while destroying opponents which I think DT needed to follow. I would cheer for any undefeated wrestler if they go about it the way Cael did.

Taylor will learn from it. Ouentin Wright got pinned earlier this year too and he came back and did well. Jenkins is still a jerk. He should take some advice from the Nebraska wrestler who is great and lets his wrestling do the talking.

Congrats to Taylor on a great season. I was one of those who claimed he would win 4 titles, and I was obviously wrong!

Regarding the match itself, I was a little surprised Taylor didn't go after him a little more aggressively to try to wear him out. Even if he gets taken down, he is likely to come out on top of the scrambles and wear Bubba down. I'm sure he'll come back even stronger to give his best to win a title next year. Still an incredible wrestler.
Gold--You said exactly what I was thinking. I could only listen to it on the radio because I live in Africa. But Jenkins has always had conditioning questions which Taylor doesn't have. I would have thought even if he gave up some early points he would have worn Bubba down by the third period and it would have paid off. It's been nice to read how well Bubba speaks of Taylor. Despite the issues in his departure from PSU Bubba and Taylor seem to get along well. Looking back on that 2008 149 NCAA's that now makes it 6 NCAA champs--Metcalf, Jenkins, Burroughs, Caldwell, JP O'Connor and Schlater plus 2 runners-up: Palmer and the Michigan guy that I can't recall his name. I realize I'm off topic here, but has there ever been a weight with that many different national champs and runners-up?

Its interesting to me that it appears that all the sentiment (at least that I've read) about Taylor being "cocky" all seem to come from one fan base.

A fan base (just like every other fan base) who eats it up every time one of their guys gestures to the crowd to try and get them excited.
