I get the feeling that people are confused because they used the "dominance this season" criteria to seed 125, and the "better Nationals results" criteria to seed 157. Both are valid ways to seed but it's strange that they won't stick to one or the other. I didn't follow 149 very closely, but the seeding seems just wrong to me. I bet Caldwell is more pissed than anyone else.

Couldn't Hall also have more quality wins criteria too? Intermat rankings list him as beating the #4 guy twice, #7 and #10. Taylor has beaten #5 Dong and #6 St John twice. Fittery #7 Saddoris and #8 Welch. Pretty close call, but there isn't a lot to separate them.

Taylor has top 10 wins over Peppelman (major), St. John (major and dec) and Dong.
Obviously the committee looked at last year to determine Hall #1 and Fittery #2. If we ignore the fact that they are all americans, or that Hall beat Fittery last year, how can you possibly justify having Fittery at #2 over Taylor? His top 10 wins are over #7 and #8, and Taylor has been just as-if-not-more dominant.
I can see Hall at #1 because he handed Bubba two of his three losses.

Peppelman dropped out of the top 10 after finishing 5th at the EIWA.

Okay, Peppelman is seeded 11th. And Paul Young (who DT beat tech-major-major) 12th.
So Taylor has top 12 wins over #11 Peppelman (major), #6 St. John (major-dec), #5 Dong (dec) and #12 Young (tech-major-major). Also #5 Sponseller (major) at 165.
