Default 2011 Hodge Trophy: How its earned and who should win

I don't know my Hodge trophy trivia like some. I am wondering, if David Taylor techs and/or majors his way through this tournament, does he have a chance? If all undefeateds win out, does it come down to age or does the most deserving get it?

I dont see him gettingit unless burroughs robles and maybe even reader lose. Just dont see a freshmen getting it. If he bonuses through the tourney maybe. I think he is deserving.

The fact of his being a freshman would likely work against him. But don't forget--Cael won it as a freshman (and soph, junior, senior as well). I know that Cael's the only guy to win the Hodge 4 times. Does anyone know if any other freshman has won it other than him?

Running under the assumption that the Hodge committee chooses to follow their criteria (which in the past hasn't always been a guarantee) of...

    1. Record
    2. Pins
    3. Dominance
    4. Past Credentials
    5. Quality of Competition
    6. Sportsmanship
    7. Heart

...Fittery is the current favorite with Oliver as the runner up, and Taylor following them up in third.

    1. Fittery: 28-0 (13 pins)
    2. Oliver: 24-0 (9 pins)
    3. Taylor: 34-0 (8 pins, 14 tech's)
    4. Caldwell: 14-0 (8 pins, 1 tech)
    5. Nicholson: 31-0 (7 pins)
    6. Burroughs: 31-0 (6 pins)
    7. Foster: 22-0 (5 pins)
    8. Hall: 25-0 (4 pins, 4 tech's)
    9. Honeycutt: 26-0 (4 pins, 2 tech's)
    10. Russell: 33-0 (4 pins, 1 tech)
    11. Reader: 34-0 (3 pins)
    12. Robles: 31-0 (2 pins, 22 tech's)
    13. Brandvold: 14-0 (2 pins, 0 tech's)

So, if Taylor majors or techs Fittery does he jump Oliver?

Updated going into tonight, again our listed criteria is...

    1. Record
    2. Pins
    3. Dominance
    4. Past Credentials
    5. Quality of Competition
    6. Sportsmanship
    7. Heart

And based off this criteria Jordan Oliver is currently our Hodge Trophy favorite. Oliver helped him out with falls in his first two matches here at the tournament. He's actually the only guy on the list that's pinned anyone at the tournament.

    1. Oliver: 28-0 (11 pins)
    2. Taylor: 38-0 (8 pins)
    3. Burroughs: 35-0 (6 pins)
    4. Foster: 26-0 (5 pins)
    5. Russell: 37-0 (4 pins)
    6. Reader: 38-0 (3 pins)
    7. Robles: 35-0 (2 pins)

I think Taylor has a shot, absolutely. I think the t falls for Robles might be considered an anomaly. I don't think it's a done deal.
