Oliver has yet to face any of the top 6 besides Hochstrasser, all of whom could give Oliver a run for his money. That includes Long, Graff & Ramos.
KR, you know as well as anybody that qualitative analysis is as important (or more important) as quantitative analysis. I don't need to see Oliver wrestle everyone in the top 10 to know that he is on a different level. To me, this isn't like a Dake vs Molinaro argument where one guy wrestled two more ranked wrestlers than the other. I think Oliver is a world-class wrestler and the others at 33 are very good college wrestlers.

If Long, Graff, and Ramos can't take Oliver down then how are they going to beat him?

Good point Flop. I think Ramos is too small this year to take Oliver down, and I don't think Graff can hang with Olivers speed on the feet, Long being older and more experienced on the National stage against top level guys, but I agree, Oliver is on his way to an undefeated National Title and isn't stopping there, he's looking for this first title, then he's going to want World titles.

Did anyone else watch the Oliver vs Hochstrasser match at the dual? That was a very close match that could've gone either way. Three more seconds in the third period and Hoch would have won.

I saw that match, I also saw the match at NWCA All-Star Dual. You can look at it two ways, Hoch. is due to beat Oliver and sadly for Oliver it's going to be at NCAA's or you can look at it like you do Russell this year and even though he's wrestled the tough guys close he's found a way to win each time. That being said I look at it like Russell is going to have to win more than 1 of these super tight matches that come down to OT or a last second take down or escape, where Oliver is only going to have to win one in the Finals so I think Russell goes down and I think Oliver squeaks it out.

I saw the matches and I got the impression Hoch could never beat Oliver. Don't see it happening.

Just saying he hasnt done it yet. I am sure if his SOS was looked at by the same guys who break the NCAA MBB brackets they might bring it up as a question. I am not saying he won't win it but I think that some other guys are a bit more battle tested.

I don't think there is anyone that wrestles a style that doesn't play into what JO wants. The only person who beat him convincingly last year was Gomez who could wrestle as well from a gap. The other top guys at 133 this year are straight ahead guys who like to tie up and grind on guys. None of them are good enough at that to stop JO's offense + get theirs going. They are all going to come straight at him and as soon as he starts going side to side they are in trouble.

Andrew Long (as if we were wondering who kr is referring to in terms of "other guys') certainly had no luck in trying to do that when he wrestled Oliver two years ago.

Glad to know that matches from 2 years ago work for you in substantiating a point. Of course when I bring it up it's invalid....
