Marions got kennedy in the quarters, then russell in the semis

Kennedy would have been way better off with the #6 seed than the #4 seed. Guy is the Rodney Dangerfield of wrestling this year, his seeds have been brutal.

You could say that Alton is sitting pretty, or got a gift. the bottom half is certainly the half that you want to be on.

Part of the problem with Kennedy is misinformation - just like on the TDR show people were saying "he's 17-4" and "he lost to Novachkov" yet I don't think he has any losses besides to the 2 to Russell. Do Medical Forefits where you don't step on the mat typically count on your record? His scorebook page on the NWCA site seems screwed up, it show him with two losses to himself. Seriously, I think somehow his official record somehow counts a loss to himself.

Am I crazy here? Even if the loss to Novachkov counts where is his 4th loss?

Either way Gantry Kennedy, Marion and Russell got the shaft this year. I don't know how they do the seeds, but either way I truly think they need to reevaluate at some weights. To put those three on the same side then Alton and then only have Nov. and Thorn I mean that's not an EASY draw but compared to having Marion and Russell on your side that is EASY this year at this weight, just my opinion but this years seeds for 141 were a little off of what they should have been to put on the best show for the finals.

With this draw Alton could conceivably get to the semis.

The problem was where to seed Novachkov. I think they placed him too high (but honestly we don't know how good he is because he hasn't actually wrestled any of Big 10's top 4). That really helps Alton and Thorn and gave Marion and Kennedy a rough draw. Russell isn't really affected too much because he has to wrestle only one or the other. I look for Kennedy to beat Marion; Russell to beat Kennedy (very close); Alton to beat Navochkov; Thorn to beat Alton and Russell to beat Thorn in the finals. A good draw for both Alton and Thorn. I look for Kennedy to come back for 3rd, and things will probably work back to normal in the consolations. The guy who I think was most affected by the seeds is Kennedy. I think he would have been the runner-up with a better draw.
