When Badcat is calling for civility you know we've gone off the rails.
PSU won the tournament. They won the big matches and Iowa had their chances throughout. Congrats to PSU because they earned it. Some poster said that they think Cornell has the best tournament team, but I dont think that is the case at all. Dake looks like he is not going to repeat and can be beaten, and they have some holes in their line up like every other team does too.
With that said, I think it is a 3 team race with Iowa, PSU, and Cornell, but I will take a loss this weekend for Iowa to take home 2....4....in a couple of weeks. Brands will have them ready, and I fully expect that PSU doesnt win 5 NCAA titles individually, but expect Iowa to have 5 in the finals again like last year.......haha, ok, that was a huge homer call there, maybe more than Herkey.
I think PSU and Cornell are going to be separated from Iowa by a bit. I know Iowa came close here, but at NCAA's, the PSU and Cornell point scorers are going to have a better shot at duplicating their conference placements than the Iowa counterparts in most cases. Who's more likely to duplicate their placement, Ruth's 1st place or Lofthouse's 3rd? Taylor's 1st or St. John's 2nd? I think Rasing could outplace Wade again, but HWT is quite a crapshoot in many cases. As much as I love Uncle Luke, I have a hard time seeing him take 2nd at NCAA's. McD could win, and Marion can outdo his placing. I don't see Janssen taking 3rd in the country, although that would be awesome. Gambrall? Yeesh.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.
One, two, Evans is coming for you...
Say what you want but that performance got Tom Brand's attention. I am sure he realizes it is a three team race barring injuries or a completely monster performance by Minnesota or Wisconsin.
"Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until they speak."
There's lots of wiggle room that could make things difficult for PSU.
Mcd-1-3. Ramos-2-7 Marion 1-5 DSJ 3-6. AJ-3-DNP EL-5-DNP GG-7-DNP LL-3-6 BR-5-DNP
So there's 9 guys all of which will score points and all of which have good chances(save GG) to AA. 2 extra scorers can go a long way, especially if they're viable.
125-Perelli-6-DNP 133-Grey-3-DNP 141-Manson-DNP 149-Dake-1-4 Meagher-DNP Kerber-5-DNP Lewnes-3-5. Bosak-3-6 Simaz-1-4
So those are Cornells scorers. Quite a few guys not placing(IMO) with no guaranteed finalists. Kyle Dake can say "don't lose" all he wants but the fact is he "did lose." Twice this year, so I'm not ready to claim him champ. Lewnes has had some letdowns at NCAA's before, and Simaz is very mortal.
JM-5-DNP JO-1 Kindig-DNP Parks-5-DNP Erisman-DNP Bailey-7-DNP Benefiel-DNP Perry-3-8 Foster 1-4
They are young, but they have some firepower and Chris Perry has been a lot better.
To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.
If OSU can get two of Kindig, Erisman, Bailey and Benefiel in they will be pretty tough I think.
