I really enjoyed the "I really enjoyed the.....era" Glad it's not gone.

5 Big 10 champs is slightly different than wining Big 12's.

Too bad they won't win NCAA's!!

Hawks will have about 6 champs and around 13 AA's in Philly.

Nope, just John Smith, who happens to have more national titles than Brands does.

Wow--both Iowa and PSU had great tournaments with some great efforts and performances. Each team (all 11 of them) wishes a couple of things went differently, but it was a great tournament. I don't understand why we have to turn this into a Cael (or anyone else) bashing. Let's enjoy the great competition for what it was.

2007, Cael won the Big XII and 3 Big XII teams finished in the top 5 at Nationals, 2 Big 10 teams did. 2008, Cael won the Big XII and 3 Big XII teams finished in the top 5 at Nationals (ISU and OSU tied), 3 Big 10 teams did. 2009 Cael was co-champion of the Big XII, 2 Big XII teams finished in the top 5 at nationals, 2 Big 10 teams did. The strength of the bottom 5-6 teams in the Big 10 is pretty suspect. At the top the Big XII competes just as well. The small margin of error in the Big XII makes it an easy tournament to lose. Right now Intermat has all 5 Big XII teams in their top 15 and 4 Big 10 teams.

This proves my point. He's won very tough conference tournaments in the past but has failed to win the big one. So I don't know what JensenS point was with this thread. What he did yesterday is the same as what he did at Iowa State.

Side note. Intermat better get ISU out of their top fifteen. Theyre not there this season.

Who turned this into a Cael bashing. I'm just pointing out where Jensen is wrong in this thread. If you want to blame someone for starting some Cael bashing, blame Jensen. He started this thread, just to get us talking like this. I was merely pointing out that he's not done anything that he has not done in the past yet.

Doesn't it hurt to continualy sticking out your chest and thump it?
How about giving the politics a break for a while and simply enjoy the fact that there was great wrestling at the bT tourney, and that PSU kept their focus and won not only the but every major award that the Big 10 hands out. The constant belittling of other teams, other wrestlers and other coaches is getting REAL old.

I'm not doing that. I'm just responding to this thread that was made just as soon as the tournament was over. I was pointing out where Jensen was wrong with the whole premise of this thread. Everyone has always said that the National tournament is the only one that matters. Now that Penn St wins conference were changing it?

Reread the title of this thread. What it insinuates is wrong. Sanderson may win a national title this year, but so far he's only done what he did three times at ISU.

And please find a post where I've belittled a wrestler or coach since the tournament has been over. And while your at it, pull up the one where I congratulated Penn St.

I just wanted to say that Iowa turned in one hell of a performance yesterday with a very young squad as well. With Penn State and Iowa being so young and talented, this is shaping up to be one for the ages. This is exactly what wrestling needed, two historied programs, lead by champions, and a rivalry that is news worthy enough to gain media attention.

And Herkey, I hope Iowa Wrestling has you on their payroll as much as you ride Cael's jock. Give it a rest.
