He, in fact, would probably be my top pick for OW in the West. The guy is a frickin beast!
Yea that one is pretty mild actually. Didnt find a lot I thought I could go with out in the WWC but I did like Kennedy at the beginning of the year so I like Gantry's pick.

Well, the West is a heck of a lot tougher than it used to be since the new qualification system was put in.
The West also has Kjar, Sprenkle (the guy is a SLEEPER by definition), Martinez, Cox, Ray (the toughest unheard of 133 pounder in the U.S.), Cruz, Von Ohlen, Dallaserra, Gaethje, Robbins, Bonin, Salminen, Onufer, Loder, LeBlanc, Brantley.
My apologies to folks who deserve to be mentioned, but this was off of the top of my head.
The point is is that the West is about the toughest I've seen it in the years that I've been following college wrestling (and it's a sin that this conference wasn't offered more qualifying slots).

Ban, it's not that the conference wasn't offered more spots, it's that they didnt earn more. With the new qualifying systems you earn your spots in the current season.

I understand, but the West is the toughest I've ever seen it. My list testifies to that.
In other words, there will be tougher wrestlers from the West who won't make the big dance than folks who will make it from easier qualifying tournaments.
Hint... the Big 10 and Big 12!

I'd agree about the B12 if you took OSU out of it this year.

And even the Big10, at certain weights.

Assuming that the wildcard process won't help them, better wrestlers from the West won't make the big dance than certain wrestlers from the big 10.
This shouldn't be new...I've been saying this since the new allocation system was put into place. As long as you are upright and breathing in the Big 10, you're in the big dance.

As someone from the west, a big fan of wrestling in the west and wrestlers from the west, here's my (hopes and) predictions:
1. Sprenkle and Kjar both AA at 125.
2. Hoch beats Oliver for the 133 title, Chamberlain and Hall join him as champs and Boise State finishes in the top 3.
3. Leblanc wins the 184 title.
4. Shane Onufer wins the title at 165.
5. Tyler Cox becomes an AA at 133.
