If you aren't a die hard, very close follower of college wrestling then you won't know any of the names at 84. Ruth wins pretty easy in my opinion...now 141, now that's where you pay the money to watch, from the quarters on at Big Tens 41 will make or lose you some BIG money in Vegas.

I actually think 184 has become a pretty interesting weight. Not as interesting as it looked to be in the preseason, but I'll be pretty interested in any matches between Honeycutt, Rutt, Hamlin, Bosak, Leblanc, Steinhaus, and Loder (just because I know nothing about him and he's had a pretty good year). Possibly Chris Perry if the NCAA tourney brings his roots to the surface.

Then again, I've got the #1 and #3 guys in the country as opposed to the #11 and #17.

yeah 84 is just too lack luster for my liking, especially when you've got 125, 133, 141 all to watch, even 49, 57 and 65 are more interesting to me. You guys think Caldwell wins it all?

In reality, there are 2 seniors, 8 juniors, 9 sophomores and 6 freshman in that top 25 with 3 sophomores and 3 freshman in the top ten. That tells me that by next year you could see 7 returning AA's in that weight. Its all cyclical. That, to me, doesn't give the full story of how strong or weak the weight class is.

So the wrestlers previous accomplishments have no bearing on how strong the weight is?

Just saying, guys have to graduate at some point and the fresh meat comes in. I think 184 will be interesting to follow actually for me. I'm curious to see how far a guy like Steinhaus can go. In this weight class he has as good a chance as the next guy. I think what you call a weak weight class can actually be a REALLY strong weight class for next year when you are saying how strong the class is bc it has 7 returning All American's. You can't help that guys graduate can you?

There are 7 freshmen and sophomores in the Intermat top 12 at 184 and one senior (Kissel is a JR). Usually guys that young don't have a lot of college accomplishments behind their name. They have to get that star power some year. They all seem to be very good wrestlers if they don't have the hardware yet. And it adds another dynamic to see how well they perform under the lights at nationals as well. 184 has a bunch of guys out to make a name for themselves to me that is just as interesting. Considering Smith's injury, next year it is actually likely that next year everyone in the Round of 12 at nationals is back at 184 next year. So next year we could be talking about the exact same guys but you will find it that much more interesting simply because there will be 8 All Americans back?

Forgive me for not finding every weight at NCAA's completely enthralling.
