    Default Minnesota v Nebraska Predictions

This was posted over at The Mat but some clown named Lil Red.

    LETS HEAR EM......

    HERE ARE MINE

125: Sanders (Minn) by fall over Pakorny (N) 6-0

133: Ness (Minn) maj dec over Vacanti (N) 10-0

141: Thorn (Minn) maj dec over Salazar (N) 14-0

149: Hacker (N) dec over Peterson (Minn) 14-3

157: Burroughs (N) maj dec over Safratowich (Minn) 14-7

165: Dwyer (N) dec over Glaser (Minn) 14-10

174: Browne (N) maj dec over Young (Minn) 14-14

184: Jones (N) dec over Eldenschink (Minn) 14-17

197: Brester (N) tech fall over McPhail (Minn) 14-22

HWT: Lane (N) dec over Berhow (Minn) 14-25

    25 (N) - 14 (Minn)

I think he has it about right for the first four matches but then at 157 I don't see Burroughs with a major decision.

125 Sanders fall Pakorny 6-0 Minny (Sanders is putting bonus points up)
133 Ness fall Vacanti 12-0 Minny (Ness is putting bonus points up)
141 Thorn dec Salazar 15-0 Minny
149 Hacker md Peterson 15-4 Minny
157 Burroughs dec Saf. 15-7 Minny (Saf is tough, will show up)
165 Dwyer dec Glasser 15-10 Minny (Dwyer is better, Glasser wins, Minny wins)
174 Browne mdec Yohn 15-14 Minny
184 Jones dec Eidenshenk 15-17 Nebraska
197 Brester dec McPhail 15-20 Nebraska
Hwt Berhow dec Lane 18-20 Nebraska (Berhow reverses the score of there previous match this year)

Close dual but I believe that Nebraska's upper weights pull it out.

125: Sanders maj Pokorny 4-0 MN (Sanders as you said has been putting lots of points on the board, he hasn't pinned many guys though)

133: Ness fall Vacanti 10-0 MN (Ness on the other hand has been pinning pretty much everyone that he's beaten)

141: Thorn dec Salazar 13-0 MN (Possibility of bonus as Thorn has shown that he can put big scores on guys)

149: Hacker dec Peterson 13-3 MN (As shocking as it may be for some, I don't know much about either one of these guys)

157: Burroughs dec Safratowich 13-6 MN (Burroughs put the big score on him at UNO, and then beat him tight in Vegas. I think it goes like the Vegas match)

165: Dwyer dec Glasser 13-9 MN (Glasser has a win over Dwyer in the past but he's dropped a couple in a row close. He definitely can win it here, may wind up depending on his health given that he defaulted out of Vegas)

174: Browne dec Young 13-12 MN (This could very well be more. Browne has been wrestling very well again this year and is arguably the most underrated guy in the country. Top 3 and he's hardly ever spoken about)

184: Jones dec Eidenschink 15-13 NE (Jones can pin, but Eidenschink has shown himself to be a resilient dude who generally avoids giving up big scores. He obviously wasn't in the line up last year but the only guy I remember ever getting bonuses against Eidenschink was Phil Davis when he pinned him two years ago)

197: Brester fall McPhail 21-13 NE (Brester has been wrestling really, really well this year and he's proven that he can put guys on their backs and finish them off quick)

285: Lane dec Berhow 24-13 NE (Berhow has dropped two close matches to Lane, if he can find a way to get the takedown then he can definitely win this. We'll have to see)

    Nebraska 24 Minnesota 13

Like others have said, Nebraska's guys from 57-Heavy are just brutal.

I saw you post that over there Zapp and frankly, the glasser I've seen wrestle doesn't beat Dwyer. It will be close, very close, but I don't think that happens.

I also think Saf keeps it to a decision. We need The first three to all get bonus points, potentially two falls. We need Saf to keep it to a decision, Young or Yohn not to get beat too badly, Vince jones to fall apart, and Berhow to steal one.

The swing matches are 165 and HWT. And like I said, I don't think Glasser beats Dwyer, I hope I'm wrong. I think this is a match Berhow can win.

Cody is a 174 pounder and seems like he's redshirting, Sonny hasn't wrestled a ton this year as he is apparently coming off shoulder trouble.

He wrestled one match at the Northern Quad, but I think thats been it thus far.

If Donahoe was at Nebraska again, they would definitely challenge for the title this year.
