I think it comes down to Iowa and Penn State in team points. It's Hard to make any predictions until the brackets come out. 141 is going to be a killer bracket and I'd pay the price of admission just to watch that one bracket alone play out. But I see that going to Russel. Marion 2nd, Thorn 3rd, Alton 4th.
Kennedy not in the mix even though he already beat your boy soundly?
I have my tickets to the Big Ten and I will be watching the 141 bracket very closely. I think that although I am a huge Penn State and Andrew Alton fan, that I have to say Kennedy will be up there in the top four. I wish-oh-wish that Alton could somehow pull it put and take number one, but I don't think this is his year. It will come down to Russell, Marion, Thorn and Kennedy. And I would expect some sort of upset here. Maybe Kennedy or Marion taking it? People bring their best to the Big Tens. Remember a year ago when Palmer turned Metcalf? So anything can happen. And, isn't that why we obsess over this crazy sport in the first place?
Of the big 5 I see Alton and Thorn as the guys I wouldn't expect to contend for the Big 10 title.
Alton and Thorn are definately contenders for the B10 title. Thorn can beat anyone at his weightclass and Alton can throw anybody with more success than most. 141 will be a meat grinder. Marion has beat Alton and Thorn in his short time back. He lost a match to Russell in OT in which he was winning until the last ten seconds of regulation. I would say that Marion has to be Russells top contender and has the best chance of coming away with the title. I think Russell plays defense too much to beat Marion again.
That's your opinion. Just watching all of those guys wrestle I get the feeling Thorn could lose to a few of those guys as could Alton.
