Are you willing to make a sig bet on your "clear favorite" at NCAA's?

Russell is absolutely the clear favorite right now. But, unless he's the only undefeated wrestler standing at the end, I don't see him winning the Hodge. Dominance is required for the Hodge - but not to be the NCAA favorite. Russell probably isn't a "popular favorite" because he isn't as dominating as others... but he doesn't need to be. He just wins.

I dont' see how anyone can be a "clear favorite" since the returning finalist is still an unknown for this season. Maybe our definitions of "clear favorite" are different. Sunday will be fun.

Maybe you guys don't understand the meaning of the word "favorite?"

Doesn't necessarily mean he's my pick for either big 10s or ncaas. So to answer your question chop, no I would not like to make that bet.

Sorry if I misunderstood you. I just don't see any favorite right now at this weight. I think any of the top 4-5 could beat each other on any given day. When I refer to a clear favorite I mean Metcalf like to win the title. Sorry my bad.

Based on what Russell has done this year if you have to pick one favorite, it's him.

In case anyone hasn't noticed this is HUGE weekend for B10 141:
    BOLD = HOME WRESTLER
(ranking TOM, Kennedy only wrestler wrestling 2 away matches, every other B10 wrestler listed wrestles one home & one away)

    Friday Feb 11th:
    #1 Russell vs #2 Thorn
    #4 Kennedy vs #7 Alton
    #5 Marion vs UR Fleckstein

    Sunday February 13th:
    #1 Russell vs #5 Marion
    #2 Thorn vs #7 Alton
#4 Kennedy vs UR Trumbetti (preseason top 20)

    Average rank of opp
    #7 Alton 3.0
    #1 Russell 3.5
    #2 Thorn 4.5
    #5 Marion 11.5
    #4 Kennedy 13.5

I understand the word favorite and Russell would be it, but hardly clearly. Marion is the top returning place winner from just one season ago. Coming into the season if he had no susupension, he would have been considered the favorite by some, if not all. Now that he's back, he's got to be given consideration until he loses to the favorite. Thus putting a little grey area in Russells favorite status. I agree Russell is the fav right now, but not clearly like Metcalf, Ironside, Hendricks, Pendleton and others were in previous seasons.

Nobody even mentioned that class of favorites but you and Chop. Nobody else put Kellen Russell in as high regard as you and Chop thought we were.
