    More sour grapes.

PS, Iowa's returning finalist did beat a freshman. Penn States returning finalist got beat by one.

The highlight of Taylor was downright impressive, SOO much movement and attacking, just crazy good level changes, and movement. Seems to be improving every time I see him, which is scary.
Yea that last TD by MM is off a failed neck wrench by AA. AA did get a double in right before that that MM countered but AA spent most of the 3rd period countering MM's shots.

DT looked good but it was one of the few matches where he couldn't get any backs. He had DSJ in one tightwaist tilt but no NF points. It was obvious that some of the Iowa kids had worked on staying off their backs particularly Ballweg. good 4 them. I think that there were only 2 NF occasions in the entire match actually.

Might not be the case but from the highlight it looked like McD wanted to deliver a message, as after the pin he stood over the kid for a bit and walked over his corpse, and then gave a nice glare at the PS bench. So, maybe he wanted to beat on him for a while first- "we're going to pound you guys tonight just like this". Could also be that he was just having plain old fun kicking his ass for 4 minutes too.

Maybe Brands makes his guys get a workout in if they pin their opponent too quick, a la Gable and Randy Lewis?

McD was working for bonus points before he got the pin. Something Molinaro and Ruth should've been doing. One more TD and those two woulda had majors.

Molinaro actually had the major for a second. He was up 9-2 with lots of riding time after his last TD but cut Ballweg for some reason.

LOL at Ramos "backing up the whole match. He was in deep more times than Long by like 3 shots.

Anyway, keep up the sour grapes. I'll just say "Scoreboard!"

Have to agree with Zapp here. Ramos wrestled a smart match but I don't think he was stalling nearly as much as many people have been saying.
    Am I cool now?

Ramos v Long kind of reminded me of Oliver v Dennis last year where everyone was saying that Oliver was backing up. Its only stalling if the ref calls it and if you do enough to not get dinged, wrestle a smart, tactical match and then take advantage of an opportunity within the match to win it against a returning national finalist, you've wrestled a pretty damn smart match in my book.

Long failed and failed miserably. As an Iowa fan once told me, "i'll always pick a returning finalist over a freshman anyday, and by a lot". He's right.

    125. What took McD so long to pin Penn State's 4th stringer?

141; I would have tought Iowa fans would be upset with Marion, an NCAA finalist who beat a freshman by 2 points. As an Iowa fan once told me, "i'll always pick a returning finalist over a freshman anyday, and by a lot" exactly.

149; Molinaro thought he could pin an undersized Ballweg and he continued to ride him and try to turn him. Unfortunatley, Ballweg balled up and laid on the mat like it was nappy time in Kindergarten. Must be that agressive Iowa style belly defense.

157; Taylor and DSJ scrambled well, and I was really impressed with DSJ.

    165; Expected

174; Here is another Iowa belly defense to keep their opponent from scoring. Kind of reminded me of a fuzzy caterpillar. But hey...Ruth isn't a world beater 'cause he couldn't pry Lofthouse's belly off the mat.

184; QW didn't perform, period. I'm not taking anything away from Iowa here.

197; Ortega taco seasoning is stronger than PSU's 197'er. 'nuff said.

Hwt: Cameron looked as inspired as the rest of the team. It's hard to go out there, with the match already lost, the crowd deflated, and score bonus points. I'll give him a pass, this time.
