I'm very nervous about that meet. Minnesota, like Iowa, knows how to get up for the big meets.

Well, then give it right back to em Grapple. I obviously know that not everyone out East is in the mafia. If they were they wouldnt have anyone to steal or kill. But it's a low brow way of getting my point across and thats the kind of mood I'm in today. ;)
There used to be this other website that sounded alot like this thread. Then we all left. :(
This is exactly what PSU and Bael needed. I dont think that the PSU wrestlers actually thought Iowa was going to hand it to them, and for sure Bael didnt I can guarantee that.
But, some PSU fans on every board had already claimed themselves as the Champions. Its just what has been going on, and telling Iowa fans how bad they are right now and how Tom Brands cant coach and there will be many down years. Mostly trolling I suppose since if you believe a team like Iowa would be down for say 10 years you are delusional, but still ridiculous to state.
I understand how PSU fans can be excited....hell, Im a Cubs fan, so I know how you guys feel, but really the thing to remember is that you dont win titles on paper, and that Iowa will be Iowa all the time. They are rebuilding and whipped the Nittany Kittys a$%es in their own home.
PSU might have a better tournament team, but Iowa could also conceivably have 2 NCAA Champions this year too which will bring them a lot of points. You dont count Iowa out ever........just ask J Rob and his seemingly unbeatable 1997 team that.........Oh, and Badcat.....not to be nitpicky, but when you win 23 National Titles since what 1975? You can pretty much crown yourselves as kings.
Dually noted that Iowa are the KINGS of wrestling; so the next time someone tells me that Iowa fans don't throw around their titles and achiements in other fans faces, and that I should be more humble and less excited about my team and more respectful of others, I can point them to your post and say..."really"?
While Penn State has a great team, I don't understand how anyone could rationally proclaim them champs yet. They have several holes in their lineup (165, 184 (for now?) and 197). But the biggest thing, in my opinion, is that arguably their three best point scorers are all freshmen. Neither Alton, Ruth nor Taylor have ever been through the grind and pressure of the National Tournament or even the Big Ten tournament. If just one of these guys falters it will have a huge impact on their overall team score. Expecting them to win or place highly, and also put up a bunch of bonus points, is a lot to ask of freshman. Anything is possible, but I think they will have a much better chance next year after they've all gained experience from the bigger tournaments.
Herkey, I definitely laughed at this thread, but you have to realize it's every bit as obnoxious as anything any PSU fan (except maybe one) ever said.
I know you probably realize this and don't care, but just thought I'd point that out.
