not saying precin losing was a good thing but i will say it may better him in the end cause no matter who you are beating someone 3 times or even 4 if they meet at the ncaa's is a hard thing to do. so i say precin takes him at b10's and the semi's at the ncaa's are a toss up
I dont see how Robles WONT be the number 1 seed. The only reason I don't firmly believe he will be is because everyone seems to think that Matt or Brandon will get it. It's not like he ducked those guys or missed part of the season. He wrestled every match on his schedule won some big tournaments.(he can't help that NU and Iowa don't go to them)
Go Hawkeyes.
I definitely agree that Robles deserves the top seed, but I don't see him as a the #2 lock at all. He registered huge numbers of techs last year two. He scored bonus points on all but a couple of guys. I think he has shown year-to-year improvement this year and that he's awesome, but I think Precin knows how to beat him and this improvement won't change that. Could I see Robles winning it? Oh yeah. Especially if he faces McDonough, who hasn't wrestled him yet, in the finals. But Precin remains my pick for champion.

Thanks Wiltz for posting that video of McDonough taking down Precin. I was of two minds about watching it. I wanted to see what had happened but I didn't really want to see Brandon get beat. It was tough (on me) but tougher on Brandon. McDonough is one tough wrestler and I think it's a testament to Tom Brand's style of coaching that Precin could have dominated the match for so long but still not have won. I'm really worried about tonight's match-up with Penn State. All my heroes are on the line: Andrew Alton, David Taylor, Ed Ruth. Can St. John really beat Taylor? I want that match to be a walk-over for Taylor but I'm concerned. Same at 141. I want Alton to pin Ballweg, but who knows? Of course, isn't that what's so cool about wrestling? A guy can beat wrestler after wrestler but still not make it to champion. You just never know - wrestlers aren't static beings that are one way the whole season. They change, improve, mature, fall apart, everything that can happen to a person all in the space of a few short months. And we get to sit here and watch it. I hate the weather in winter, but it's one of my favorite times of the year.
Great timing Wiltz. Gold should reconsider.

Not too many times you watch a guy lose and think he's the better guy and he'll win the rematch. However, that's how I feel in this case. Mcd had a month to figure out how to get to his legs and he never got close.
Go Hawkeyes.
