I'm glad the 3x National Champion coach was able to validate his coaching ability.

I hear what you are saying vais but I am in agreement with kr on this one. Brands should not have to prove anything but there will always be questions about him until he wins without the "double class". The team he has this year is a far cry from his last three teams but I'm not sure those teams handle this PSU squad much better than this squad did (I'll have to think about that dual in my mind before I stick to that statement). Brands has proven a bit more to me as well with Iowa's performance tonight. Wins like this may be a start toward folks calling him a "master motivator" on a close par with Brands' own coach and mentor.

A coach is never done proving himself, something that I think said coach and mentor would agree with as well.

Last years Iowa team would make the match look like this:

    125: McDonough vs. Morgan
    133: Dennis vs. Long
    141: Marion vs. Alton
    149: Metcalf vs. Molinaro
    157: Kerr vs. DSJ
    165: Morningstar vs. Kemerer
    174: Borschel vs. Ruth
    184: Keddy vs. Wright
    197: Beatty vs. Ortega
    HWT: Erekson vs. Wade

In that match, it's highly possible/probable Penn State wins only one match.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

Last years Iowa team wins probably 9-10 against this years Penn State team. Taylor would likely have majored Janssen or Kerr. Other than that I don't see a win for PSU against last years Iowa team.

    Mcd over whoever

    Dennis over Long

    Marion over Alton

    Metcalf over Molinaro

    Janssen/Kerr loses to Taylor

    Morningstar over Kemerer

    Borschel over Ruth

Keddy over Wright Slight toss up

OH No ITS Chad Beatty over Justin "they said mean things to us" Ortega

    Erekson over Wade

With Iowa having Bonus at 3 or 4 weights

Iowa wins 19-16 and the streak stays alive. Cael when at ISU couldn't get over the hump and I don't think he gets over today. It seems when his wrestlers are in toss up matches they always lose to Iowa. I think Tommy will have the boys jacked and you see what will happen by my predictions. I really think my predictions are spot on. We will see!
You called it just about the way I did. Only Herk did us one better.

Yeah, I thought that statement was probably off the second I typed it (thus the "think about it" disclaimer).

But, even the most extreme Iowa homers on this board were not expecting the relatively lopsided score of this dual.
