This dual sounds awesome. The crowd sounds so intense and the matches are very competitive. Wish I was there.
Not that he should care but Hamlin's upset tonight throws a heck of a wrench into my 184 picks that I was going to release tomorrow.
Cornell puts Simaz out on the mat, he and Kennedy are scoreless after the first. Kennedy beat him in this dual last year.
LeHigh is just taking it to the #1 team in the nation -that loss to Navy might just have been what the Dr. Ordered.165-#3Kerber bites it,184 #3 Bosak gives up 2 TD's on the lines -more importantly DAKE #1 in the nation -wins 4-3 and gives up 2 stall points.
Every match but 125 could have gone either way.
Agreed Russ. The announcers keep saying that Lehigh is trying to stall their way to keep every match close. Maybe that's true and it's just a good strategy they are using, I don't know, but it's strange that you would think that the Big Red are the ones who didn't come to win based on the results.
Simaz wins, puts the Big Red up 15-13.
Rey obviously set to win it for Lehigh with only heavyweight left.
This is pretty close to the worst possible scenario for Cornell. The only reasonable thing that could have gone worse would have been if Bilodeau won at 57. Or if Simaz hadn't wrestled.
Great job by Lehigh. They took 5 matches from Penn State and now knock off Cornell.
Rey majors Snyder 8-0
17-15 Lehigh is our final, meaning assuming they make it through the weekend unscathed Cael Sanderson and the Penn State Nittany Lions will be the #1 team in the country.
If this dual is ANY indication of how the conference season in general is going to go, I can't WAIT for it to start. I know Cornell is without Grey but thats one hell of a match by Lehigh and some gutsy performances from their young guys. There is some tremendous wrestling happening out EAST and thats pretty exciting for the sport.
