Your pouting is cute as always. I would actually say Sanjaa is a tremendous talent, and from what I hear he couples that with a great work ethic. The problem is that it's only like his third year wrestling folk. His freestyle results are excellent, however.

I completely agree.

Personally I'm shocked they haven't renamed the Hodge after him yet, though KobePM has confirmed that such a change is in the works.

Metcalf was neither a 2x champ nor a 3x finalist at the time, but I see what you're getting at. Let's take a look....

2010/2011:
So far we have Burroughs 10, Howe 7.
Not quite 5 points, and Howe isn't QUITE there yet in terms of titles and finals appearances, but he's done damn near everything he could. This win is right there on that level.

2009/2010:
Lance Palmer 9, Brent Metcalf 3

2008/2009:
Darrion Caldwell 11, Brent Metcalf 6

2007/2008:
Jake Herbert 6, Jake Varner 1 (Varner didn't win the Hodge, but that's subjective and a technicality).

2006/2007:
Ben Askren 14, Jake Herbert 2

EDIT: I now realize the year is wrong for Herbert dec Varner 6-1.

I referenced two wins over those guys. Not one. The manner in which the matches were won were also relevant. One was by pin.

Thank you for bringing up Lance though since he was pinned by DC in the first. Though I'm sure you'll tell me that was common as well.

You're not going to turn this around into me hating on or being unimpressed by Caldwell. If one wrestler a year out of tens of thousands of wrestlers vying for college roster spots is common, then yeah, perfectly common.

You say he's a once every few years talent. I offer three other guys wrestling right now that I think are of quite comparable, yet still dazzling, talent and say that it's closer to once a year.

Sanjaa... Pin over Lance, implying that I say this stuff is "common." All just dust you kick up to obscure the point and act like a ten-year-old.

I've never said anything about Caldwell but that he is an incredible wrestler and athlete. With that said, I think I have made my point here. I'm done with this thread.

Uber talent Alex Meade just lost to Mike Dessino 5-2. I've never even heard of that guy. Dessino has also lost to 4 other people I've never heard of. Imagine the unfathomable talent that Dessino must possess to beat Alex Meade.
