Foster wins 5-3 to put OK State up 15-12 going into the final match.

While the heat isn't "turned up" per se things have to be getting somewhere around lukewarm for Mr. Rasing

I would have liked to see Johnson wrestle. He is far better wrestler than Rasing.

Am DVR'ing the replay of the match on ESPNU (while watching Patriots v. Jets) and will post an overview after that game ends.

Raising had no chance to close out the match with a major or better, nice nice job beating roshalt. Clark did a great job keeping it to a decision. Even still, IA had their chances and didn't close it out. Herkey/Chop...what do you think?

I don't like the idea of a tie. I think they should have had an 11th match. My vote would have been for Tom Brands vs. John Smith; winner takes all!

    Only watched half tonight...

125: More or less the match that I expected here, some may have said that McDonough could/should have gotten the major but I think Morrison is too big and too good on his feet for that to have happened. Dominant performance though down on the mat by McD which bodes well for some of his future match ups.

133: Despite the fact that he didn't get the bonus JO looked just as solid as he has in his other matches thus far this year. Even in the third period he wasn't really dominated from top, Clark just did a nice job keeping the goes short. JO would tripod up, Clark would drop to a leg and either finish to the mat or take it out of bounds. JO visibly upset at not getting the major afterwards.

141: I've got to say, I'll understand if Iowa winds up sticking Marion back in here since you've got to go with the better guy but I'll feel bad for Mark Ballweg who has turned himself into a very solid wrestler and is someone who wrestles a style that I think works really well in a tournament style atmosphere. He's aggressive enough to score against the guys he should score on and keep himself out of trouble with the officials against the higher level guys. Then his unorthodox stuff makes him hard to beat. Very entertaining match here between him and Kindig, similar to the first Drouin match where Ballweg just won the scrambles from most all positions.

149: Typical Parks match, seemed like he could have scored with that low single all day and then got tired. Big Ballweg not really ever close to scoring but he did his job here in not giving up the bonus.

157: Nice little rally back match by St. John over a tough opponent in Erisman. Showed a little more diversity from the feet rather than just that sweep single, then held his own on the mat (despite the riding time) by not giving up the tilts that Erisman was looking for and is so good at getting. Liked that both guys stayed aggressive at the end and didn't wait for OT, have to figure in a situation like that next time Erisman may want to try and force it into the SV.

Hawkeyes wrestled with heart today to pull out the tie against a team I thought was better than them. Mark Ballweg and Derek St. John obviously get the "helmet stickers".

165: Nice job by Bailey hitting the big throw for 5, thought he was trying to go merkle but wound up finishing a little different than I expected. Then sick job defending in both the second and third period with his splits.

174: Like I said in the preview, Benefiel was ranked higher but I expected Lofthouse to win here. Not a lot of activity out of Benefiel after the initial dump that he scored with.

184: I'd like to put out an APB for Chris Perry's single leg, only shot one and when he did it he got to the leg and stopped. Great work on top though, not just in riding but actively trying to turn. Can't imagine that the coaches are going to be too happy with Gambrall after this one.

197: If I'm an OK State fan on the other hand I'm not going to be too happy with Foster after this one. Way too much standing around with Uncle Luke.

285: Crazy match to watch just because of the ridiculous size disparity between the two wrestlers and the fact that Rosholt was backing Rasing up during the first period. Once Rasing decided to finally move in the third and OT he got in deep on one shot, and then finished the second time. Favorite part of the match was the Todd Harris quote that is now my signature.
