If that's the case then that's the case, and that would hand Boise the dual by at least a 17-16 score.

But since I don't see them beating the Gophers in the next round anyway (winning 33, 49, 57, and I guess 84 if Smith is actually back) I'm not going to go back and rework things.

Magrum should be at 184, not 197.

I think 157 is a winnable match for the Buckeyes. Kusar goes out to scrap every time he wrestles, and he won't be at near the disadvantage he was at 65. He might still be a little small, but not terribly.
I agree with Gold here as I was very impressed with Kusar's heart and determination. I think he will knock off several Big 10 157's before he is done this year. Why Magrum is going down is questionable as Capone seems to be the 184 of the future with Heflin at 174. This is a grin and bear it year for the Buckeyes so they may as well give as many young guys as much mat time as possible. They will still beat IU tho..

Im only going off of what the coach relayed to me via e-mail.

    Second half...

#3 Wisconsin v. US South Dakota State
    125: Kelliher forfeit 5-0 Wisconsin
133: Graff tech Pickerell 11-0 Wisconsin
141: Arnel dec Caruso 14-0 Wissconsin
149: Schmitt dec Hamilton 17-0 Wisconsin
157: York dec Youngblom 20-0 Wisconsin
165: Howe fall Nething 26-0 Wisconsin
174: Jordan dec Michaud 29-0 Wisconsin
184: Rutt maj Willers 33-0 Wisconsin
197: Brandvold maj Larson 37-0 Wisconsin
285: Bugenhagen maj Kelly 41-0 Wisconsin

Not much to say. Wisconsin isn't exactly a great dual team but they won't have any issues here.

#6 Oregon State v. US American
125: Lara dec Williams 3-0 Oregon State
133: Kubec maj Tao 7-0 Oregon State
141: Mangrum dec Mariacher 10-0 Oregon State
149: Sanjaa dec Sakaguchi 10-3 Oregon State
157: Fittery fall Elder 10-9 Oregon State
165: Graham dec Brascetta 12-10 American
174: Covington maj Barreiro 14-12 Oregon State
184: Arand dec Barreiro 17-12 Oregon State
197: Mitchell dec Hanke 17-15 Oregon State
285: Flores dec Jack 18-17 American

Second upset pick of the first round, and this seems like the match that will probably be the most exciting in terms of the dual going back and forth. Best bet for Oregon State to try and take it home will be to try and rack up bonus points at 125, 133, 174, and possibly 184. American can open things up a little bit more if Mariacher can knock off Mangrum which is possible but not necessarily very likely in my opinion.

#7 Virginia Tech v. US Central Michigan
125: Garnett maj Waldo 4-0 Virginia Tech
133: Carter dec Sentes 7-0 Virginia Tech
141: Diaz dec Mattingly 10-0 Virginia Tech
149: Stephens dec Corby 13-0 Virginia Tech
157: Dong maj Cubberly 17-0 Virginia Tech
165: Yates dec A. Miller 20-0 Virginia Tech
174: Bennett maj Vetterlein 20-4 Virginia Tech
184: Spellman dec Friend 23-4 Virginia Tech
197: Kelliher dec Penny 23-7 Virginia Tech
285: Trice dec Marone 23-10 Virginia Tech

Contrary to past years where you'd see Central Michigan come into National Duals as a team to possibly crash the semi's (which they did a couple of times) their team is much better tournament wise this year. Virginia Tech shouldn't have much in the way of problems. Bringing Dong back into the line up makes their team a lot stronger and leaves them as a team that will be very interesting to follow this weekend.

#2 Oklahoma State v. US Purdue
125: Morrison dec Eppert 3-0 Oklahoma State
133: Oliver fall Fleckenstein 9-0 Oklahoma State
141: Silver dec Eren 12-0 Oklahoma State
149: Parks dec Patacsil 15-0 Oklahoma State
157: Salazar dec White 15-3 Oklahoma State
165: Bailey dec Mosier 18-3 Oklahoma State
174: Manuel dec Benefiel 18-6 Oklahoma State
184: Perry dec Kissel 21-6 Oklahoma State
197: Foster dec Brown 24-6 Oklahoma State
285: Rosholt dec Vukobratovich 27-6 Oklahoma State

Close out the first round here with another pretty lopsided final score. Oklahoma State should roll through the first four weights. Given how the guys at each weight have wrestled through out the year wouldn't surprise me to see both 174 and 184 flip flop. Foster v. Brown is one of the better individual matches of the first round.

    Quarterfinal Match Ups
    #1 Cornell v. #8 Missouri
#4 Minnesota v. US Iowa State
    #3 Wisconsin v. US American
    #2 Oklahoma State v. #7 Virginia Tech

Top 5 Individual Match Ups (Round 1)
    1. Devin Carter (Virginia Tech) v. Scott Sentes (Central Michigan)
    2. Ryan Flores (American) v. Clayton Jack (Oregon State)
    3. Jon Reader (Iowa State) v. Jake Swartz (Boise State)
    4. Clayton Foster (Oklahoma State) v. Logan Brown (Purdue)
    5. Chris Drouin (Iowa State) v. Levi Jones (Boise State)

Little sparse here this season in terms of banner match ups to look for in round 1. In terms of #1 I think Carter is good enough on the feet to where he'll be able to get his points and force Sentes to pick top if he wants to get where he's strong. If Sentes does pick top though things could get interesting as Carter was ridden out by some guys who lets just say aren't as good as Sentes in some matches earlier in the year.

Will breakdown my listed quarterfinal match ups tonight.

"He won't be" is a really good guess or the best kept secret in the Minny Apple.

It was posted somewhere else that during an interview at the Scuffle, J.Rob said Dietchler wouldn't be wrestling at all this year because of concussion issues.
