Looks like I'll have my work cut out for me over the next couple of days in doing my obnoxiously long breakdown of this tournament, glad they managed to get the brackets out kind of early.

    Top half of first round...

#1 Cornell v. US Ohio State
125: Perrelli dec Touris 3-0 Cornell
    133: Paddock dec Stanzione 3-3
141: Villalonga dec Languis 6-3 Cornell
149: Dake dec Nemec 9-3 Cornell
157: Eifert dec Kusar 12-3 Cornell
165: Sponseller dec Kerber 12-6 Cornell
174: Lewnes maj Heflin 16-6 Cornell
184: Bosak maj Capone 20-6 Cornell
197: Simaz maj Mangrum 24-6 Cornell
285: Lane dec Stolarksy 27-6 Cornell

Going to be ugly here for Ohio State, and given how things have gone for them so far this year I honestly don't even feel great picking them in the two matches that I have given their opponents. Despite the fact that Kerber has wrestled so well this year I think the move back up to 165 will pay dividends pretty quickly for Sponseller. He's going to be one of few bright spots here in this dual for Ohio State.

#8 Missouri v. US Northern Iowa
125: Waters dec Young 3-0 Missouri
133: McCormick dec Jauch 6-0 Missouri
141: Schavrien maj Senzee 10-0 Missouri
149: Bradley dec Lawrence 13-0 Missouri
157: Bonin dec Gregoris 13-3 Missouri
165: Toal dec Pickerell 16-3 Missouri
174: Henderson dec Wolf 19-3 Missouri
184: Loder dec Larson 19-6 Missouri
    197: Haynes dec O'Laughlin 22-6 Missouri
285: Bradley dec Brantley 25-6 Missouri

Like the first match up we're pretty one sided here. Got a couple of matches down low that you could possibly see UNI taking if things really swung there way at 133, and 149. Then maybe another win at 174 depending on who goes for Missouri.

#5 Boise State v. US Iowa State
125: Bartelli dec Hunter 3-0 Boise State
133: Hochstrasser maj Jones 7-0 Boise State
141: Drouin dec Jones 7-3 Boise State
149: Chamberlain dec Carr 10-3 Boise State
157: Hall maj Weatherman 14-3 Boise State
165: Sorenson dec Cuthbertson 14-6 Boise State
174: Reader maj Swartz 14-10 Boise State
184: Shafer dec Larson 14-13 Boise State
197: Ward dec Casperson 16-14 Iowa State
285: Simonson dec Felix 19-14 Iowa State

And we've got my first upset here with what in my opinion (and I've talked about this all year) a pretty thin Iowa State team coming in and knocking off Boise State by winning a toss up at 141 and then winning out through the last five matches. Not having Kirk Smith is going to come and bite the Broncos here. If they want to win they need Jones to beat Drouin at 141 because I don't see them turning around any of the matches from 165-285 that I have them losing. Swartz may not give up bonus points (going the other way we could say the same thing for Weatherman) but he isn't beating Reader.

#4 Minnesota v. US Northern Illinois
125: Sanders tech Smith 5-0 Minnesota
133: Thorn dec Fanta 8-0 Minnesota
141: Thorn dec Deshazer 11-0 Minnesota
149: Zilverburg dec Castillo 14-0 Minnesota
157: Deutsch dec Grygelko 14-3 Minnesota
165: Yohn maj Mougin 18-3 Minnesota
174: Glasser maj Benzio 22-3 Minnesota
184: Steinhaus dec Dieckhaus 25-3 Minnesota
197: Nord dec Lukowski 28-3 Minnesota
285: Nelson dec dec Greenhaw 31-3 Minnesota

Yet another blow out, actually the most substantial of the ones that I've predicted thus far. May see the Gophers try and work some subs in here (guessing) and give their banged up guys like Glasser and Sonny Yohn a rest before looking to work them into the line up in either the quarters or the semi's. Thorn and Deshazer is the name match up here and so long as Thorn doesn't get headlocked he should cruise.

    Quarterfinal Match Ups
    #1 Cornell v. #8 Missouri
#4 Minnesota v. US Iowa State

    Best Individual Match Up
Jon Reader (Iowa State) v. Jake Swartz (Boise State): Says something about how lopsided this side of the bracket is when the "best" match up of the first round here is one that I'm predicting to end with a major.

If I were to do this, I would have predicted bonus for Cornell at 41 and 49 (both should be ugly). I don't know what to expect from Stryker Lane, but that's a good bonus opportunity for the Big Red as well. I also don't know what to expect from Bo Touris at 125.

Magrum should be at 184, not 197.

I think 157 is a winnable match for the Buckeyes. Kusar goes out to scrap every time he wrestles, and he won't be at near the disadvantage he was at 65. He might still be a little small, but not terribly.
