The lineup Penn State has now is tough........I think their dual w/ Iowa will be the one to stop the streak. Penn State and Cornell top teams in the country........The NCAA Team Champion comes East ?

Iowa has Okie St b4 PSU so my bet is that the streak will probably come to an end then. Though nothing would jack up the Rec Hall faithful more then to be the ones to end it on the mats in good ole Pennsyltucky!

    Random Penn State Thoughts

That is a pretty impressive lineup for the Nittany Lions right now. If Wright is "right" when he gets back, WOW. I was cautiously optimistic coming into the season. I didnt think they were quite there yet and they still might not be but if a couple things fall into place, they might just make a run this year. It is very early, but what we are seeing now is obviously encouraging.

KR1963 - Your info on Long was dead on. Solid start for him.

Excited about seeing Vollrath up at 165 for at least 1 match.

I can't wait to watch Taylor wrestle Cathell. I know I am in the minority, but I am just not a fan of Cathell's style (I am sure he is a wonderful kid, this is not an indictment of him as a person.) I think I am just a traditionalist who likes it when wrestlers stay in good position, actually take legitamate shots, etc but hey it works for him. How he gets away with leaving his feet to get into a front head lock is beyond me, but he does.

I really like the depth Penn State has at certain weights, that gives Cael some interesting options in a dual meet format.

I think we see a changing of the guard this year............top two teams, as long as injuries dont' take toll, will be from the East. The only 'traditional teams with a chance for a top place finish at the NcAAs are OSU and Minny. I think Sconny will slip in there ahead of Minny for sure and maybe OSU as well.

Minny could be top 5, with the young line-up they have right now, unless Deitchler is to come back at 157 and Thorn makes a play for 133 this year, I don't see us getting any better than #5. Even then, Deitchler has yet to show ANYTHING in regards to where he might be as a wrestler. I for one have my doubts now. I think its Penn State, Cornell, Okie State and then Wisconsin in that order. Wouldn't be shocked to see Iowa crack that Top 5 either come NCAA's.

I can't say as I have ever heard of 4 technical falls before again in a row in a Division I wrestling dual.

Charles is using a very strange line up-never heard of the 33 or the 41 and the 49 is like 2-9. And NO 165-where is Edwards ??
