While I think that Dake definitely should have been called for stalling that match, I think I agree with Jensen when he says that Dake will widen the gap. He was saying in his interview that, since it was his first competition in a month, he had a bit of trouble controlling his weight, and I know his conditioning doesn't look like it can right now. But Molinaro is tough - he will take this loss in stride and continue to improve. It seemed Dake's length was a problem for him.

Still can't wait to see DC compete.

I just think Dake's length is too much for Molinaro. He got in deep a couple of times but couldnt finish, not sure that is going to change.

After this match I really think Frank can beat him and might just do so this year.
While I agree that Dake probably should have been rung at least once, I like his overall offensive capabilities more than the Tank's. Matches between these two may always be tight, but I think if he needs the TD at the end of a match, Dake can get it, and I think he also holds the Tank off almost every time as well if need be. He also has an ability to strike up 4-5 point throws out of nowhere. Although he penetrated well in this match, Molinaro won't be able to finish most of the time and Dake's counter wrestling is also more of a serious scoring threat. This match never got down onto the mat, where I see Dake being superior as well- may not come to a turn but a riding time point seems like a likely possibility.

And, for all the Gorilla Hulk and heavy handed stuff, I think Dake may be the stronger guy in this match up b/c of length/leverage. He seemed to have a power edge when the neutral rotated from straight-on and he will end up scoring on those throw by's in the next match; he just looked better to me at turning the corners. I like the Tank quite a bit but I think this tournament was somewhat of a tune-up for Dake after injury and he controls the next meeting.

At the end of the day Kyle Dake is truly a freak when it comes to counter offense.

Dake was also sick on top of the weight issues

I dont think Molinaro has a shot against Dake.

But hopefully we can all agree that a healthy Caldwell would have torn him up Wish that dude would actually wrestle

Caldwell owns metcalf. Metcalf owns molinaro. Molinaro barely loses to dake. using the transitive property of wrestling it is clear who would win.

He was injured too, right? He's got all of the bases covered.
