    Default The Undefeateds

We lost a lot this weekend, so this is something that is starting to be worth looking at. We still don't have any clear Hodge favorite, but this is a good list to look from. Let me know if I'm missing anyone. I'll update this as guys lose.

    125: Anthony Robles, James Nicholson
    133: Jordan Oliver
    141: Kellen Russell, Cody Cleveland
    149: Darrion Caldwell
157: Steve Fittery, Adam Hall, David Taylor
    165: Jordan Burroughs
    174: Jon Reader
    184: Chris Honeycutt
    197: Trevor Brandvold, Clayton Foster
    285: None

Looking at this and considering margins of victory and quality of wins (at least off the top of my head), I'd say Burroughs, Reader, Oliver, Russell, Taylor and Fittery are the leading Hodge candidates right now.

Throw Leblanc in there two, but he's hasn't wrestled much.

I'd throw Robles in with this group given that he's been tech falling the world so far this year.

Do you think that Robles can beat the top tier at his weight? Namely Percin and McD?

Isn't Chamberlain undefeated? Hall got majored by Jenkins it may not count for NCAA seeding but it sure does count for being undefeated and winning the hodge.

In terms of absolute dominance I think DT is the clear frontrunner, with his only decision being a 9-3 win over Dong. But despite having wrestled more matches then most of the other guys on the list, he's wrestled less of the top competition.

Burroughs is probably the next guy on the list for me. He's put up about the same amount of bonus and just beat Howe, but he hasn't competed nearly as much.

The only way Russell can win the Hodge is if he is the only undefeated NCAA champion at the end of the year (and maybe not even then). He is the best wrestler at 141 this year but he doesn't seperate himself from his contemporaries in the way that everyone else on that list does.

Burroughs and Taylor are 1 and 2 in my mind right now. Burroughs is a pretty easy 1 for me actually because he just beat Howe in high-scoring, controlled fashion. I think he has only 3 majors on the year. Everything else is a tech or pin except his decisive win over Howe. Taylor obviously has destroyed everyone, but like you said, he doesn't have the quality of competition. Dong is probably a top-5ish guy, but not an AA.

Didn't think of Chamberlain. I wasn't mentioning Hall's loss because it doesn't count officially.

    Hochstrasser, Chamberlain, Onufer.

Onuffer has lost to his own backup in the cowboy open as well as Asper at the Allstar. Hochstrasser lost to Oliver.

These wins count for Hodge talk, and for most rankings, so its silly not to count them.
