I didn't mean to criticize your quoting me, kr. Yours was not an egregious crime, but when I looked at it as an isolated statement it sounded bad and I wanted to clarify that I know Sponseller is a tremendous wrestler when he's not sapped of his physical gifts.

DT is awsome with a slide by and Spons is great with arm drags, it should be a battle in the neutral position. I will admit that taylor's technique is cleaner tho at the moment, and I think DT is a better mat wrestler. I am hoping that Spons will kick it in gear and get his season on the right track in this match. Experience could help Spons, but he didn't spend the last year training with Cyler and Bubba.

The NWCA scorebook is failing me, how awful has Spons been this year? I know he lost at Vegas, any other losses outside that?

No losses outside. He just hasn't really looked like himself so far. It's not like he gasses in matches; he goes to the match, it's just he doesn't have the energy to be very powerful in his matches. He hasn't put up very many bonus points, even against backups and non-D1 wrestlers. It's kind of hard to describe if you haven't seen him, but... there's just not the burst, I guess.

He is cutting a lot of weight and trained for/ran a marathon very shortly before the season started. These probably have a lot to do with his problem.
