White drops to a single from a collar tie, but its on the edge and they go out of bounds. White with a lousy attempt at an ankle pick that almost gets countered for a spin behind TD. Hand fighting. Period ends.

2nd Period: Lester down. Lester gets hand control, gets to his feet but then White reclaims his grip, throws a leg in from the side and brings him back down. Lester escape after 55 seconds. White with a black double was great but Lester managed to slip in a whizzer and be in just close enough position to prevent the 2 from being called. They go out of bounds. White with a half shot but can't clear Lester's hands. period ends.

3rd Period: TWT lost my update for this. White chose neutral and never got a TD despite numerous nice attempts. Match ended 1-0 Lester.
And my upset call comes true!

165: Dallas Bailey vs. Chase Nelson
1st Period: Bailey with a nice slide by but can't finish. Out of bounds after a Nelson reshot attempt. Nelson with an underhook but not really doing anything with it. Jacks Bailey up a bit and tries to drop to a double but didn't commit to it. Bailey with a duck under/slide attempt but nothing. Bailey doing a lot of level changes from space to try and fake Nelson out but Nelson apparently isn't a 7th grader and isn't biting. Period ends.

2nd Period: Bailey starts down. Gets to his feet right away but no attempt at hand control and gets returned to mat, back to feet and ran out of bounds. Bailey with a reversal--I looked away and didn't see how it happened. Riding with a tightwaste and claw. They go out of bounds. Nelson to his feet, Bailey puts a leg (or rather a knee) in, somehow comes around front and almost returns Nelson to his back, but Nelson bellies down. Potentially dangerous. Nelson to his feet and spins around, Bailey drops to a leg, Nelson hips down and breaks the grip for an escape 5 seconds before the bell. Bailey has 58 secs RT.

3rd Period: Nelson takes neutral. Collar tie. Pummeling. 1 minute left, Bailey leads 2-1. Nelson drops to a single leg but Bailey slips out of it on the edge. Bailey ducks to a high crotch! Nelson counters, they are out of bounds but Nelson has his toe in bounds almost with control! Stalemate. Nelson with Bear hug attemp. Bailey counters with what would have been a high amplitude throw in freestyle but resulted in no points here. Nelson scambles to almost come behind for a takedown but the clock runs out. Great last minute after an otherwise so-so match.

    Bailey wins 2-1.

174: Mike Benefiel vs. Tyler Caldwell
1st Period: Caldwell with an underhook, Benefiel has control of other hand. Out of Bounds. Benefiel with real slick single attempt but Caldwell counters well, Benefiel sprints away to get free of the situation. Lots of upperbody stuff but zzzz. Benefiel swiftly drops down to a single and is behind. If he clears Caldwell's whizzer he scores, they are on the edges, Caldwell gets himself some space and now Mike has just the ankle. Out of bounds. Period ends.

2nd Period: Caldwell down. Escapes in about 10 seconds. Benefiel with a single from a duck. Crazy scramble. Caldwell comes out on top for the first TD of the match. Riding with a tight waist and now a half. Period ends.

3rd Period: Benefiel escapes quickly (at least I think; I spaced out). Benefiel with a nice single attempt but Caldwell's hips are too strong for the Poke. Half shot, Caldwell hips down, trying to spin around. Close, but Benefiel gets a hand in to prevent the TD. Time expires and Caldwell wins 3-0.

    Okie State wins.

Thanks for doing this Gold, seemingly a nice job by the Cowboys taking care of business tonight.

No takedowns for OSU at 125, 141, 157, 165 or 174. Not good although they were at least going after them at all but 174.

I wouldn't say Patterson attempted too many.

Patterson had the trifecta working: Stall and block off on his feet. Jump the whistle from bottom. Push Morrison out of bounds everytime he stood up.

    Won't work next time around.
To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.
