Caldwell is not Schalles........not yet anyway. It was a great move. Metcalf didn't see it coming although Brands did(you can hear him screaming) He won't do it on Metcalf again. Schalles could do it on someone again just like Askren could do a cradle on someone again............but heck, this is alll opinion and in a few days we are going to have an answer, eh?

I missed what mistake Metcalf made. Not having been able to stop the spadle wasn't a mistake, it was out of is control/ability. Metcalf did his absolute best but he still got pinned by a position he just could not avoid. With that said, cant wait for the rematch. Hope Caldwell pins him again

    And I repeat...

No doubt that Mecalf is a talent, as is Caldwell. Hopefully they have a wildly entertaining match.
Like you said, that's why ya' wrestles 'em.

I pick Metcalf to win, but hope that Caldwell wins since he's an ACC guy.

Very well said Herr Oliverbush, jibes with what I said earlier.

I think Metcalf probably winds up winning something like 10-6, but the disrespect thats being shown to Caldwell is ridiculous but not all together unexpected.

I would go apeshit if he hit the spladle on him again. Highly unlikely but in all of the matches I watched Metcalf wrestle last year he had one constant. He dictated pace. If he is doing that he is rarely worried about what the other guy is doing so hence if he puts himself in position again to where Caldwell sees the splade, don't think he won't try to hit it again. God, I would love to see that. Brands would just be shaking his head and Metcalf would have that same "what just happened" look on his face again.

Caldwell hitting a spladle is the only thing during the entire meet that would cause everyone to scream "OH MY GOD!"

    I can wish, can't I?
You do the math..... I'll do the alfredo!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

I'm just sorry JP didn't get to wrestle both of them last March. Metcalf by Fall 2:39 (give or take 10 seconds).
    See you in St. Louis!

Yeah people gotta respect Caldwell even if he has NO big moves. He can wrestle the basic fundamentals. He can take you down, he can counter your shot, and he can put you on your back. Caldwell would be tough for metcalf with out his huge arsenal of big moves.

Do I think he's as good as Metcalf? No. But I don't think anyone in NCAA is right now. Metcalf will win this match with conditioning and a bruising attack.
