Thread: Michigan State Open Discussion

Results seem to be pretty slow coming in right now and there haven't been any real major matches of note thus far anyway.

Kyle Bertin did knock off Chaires 3-1 to set up basically a wrestle off type match between he and Marella this coming round.

In an example of an incredibly rude welcome to college Herbert pinned true freshman Hunter Collins in :14.

The best match up this round, or at least the one that I'm most interested in is Welch v. Cocozzo. Unfortunately a possible Welch v. Coughlin match has been derailed as Coughlin has defaulted out.

That's crazy either how far behind they are at the tournament or how slow the results are coming in. Hope for my sake they keep coming in as I got four guys it would appear are all seeded #1 or #2 in the brackets and would like to see some results start flowing in.

Precin with a pin. Like to see it. I have had five matches this weekend with three pins and two majors. Like to see a couple of my guys come out of MS Open with Championships.

Results are kind of scattered around right now. Top 4 seeds are in the semi's at both 125, and 133. Donahoe/Moser, Pataky/Precin, and then Gomez/Conroy, Marble/Hutter.

Welch beats Cocozzo 6-5 to make the semi's at 157.

Both of mine at 125 and 157 are going in the semi's. I think Brown at 165 and Erwin should get through as well.

I think Precin/Donahoe could be the best final if Precin can get past Pataky from Penn State.

Brown and Erwin are both through already, I just didn't post them because their brackets aren't complete.

You agree that Precin/Donahoe looks like the best potential final? I am intrigued to see how strong Donahoe is early in the year with the weight cut. Precin always looked really strong there last year and just got a little out experienced at NCAA's in my opinion.
