Dennis had one of his matches there where all he did was push and didn't shoot, hard to draw stalls like that.

In his most high profile matches last year (against Ness and Dennis) Oliver was absolutely brutal to watch. Constant backing up, never taking a shot ect.

This year he seems like a different animal. Still doesn't show the same kind of urgency and aggression as a lot of other guys but he is actually attacking and scoring points.

I know, but at least he was trying to set up his offense by trying to get into russian ties. Oliver was just backing out of it. The match sucked to watch. Oliver, if he had any wind at the time, couldve owned Dennis because Dan was in his first match back from injury and was not in great shape himself. Maybe this year we will see the Oliver that was advertised out of high school.

I wonder if Oliver's slickness makes it look like he is less agressive he is. It definitely doesn't look he is trying hard, but that doesn't mean he isn't. I think that would be more evident had he scored a takedown in the 3rd vs Hoch.

He had wrestled his A$$ off to that point.
I gotta give Dennis his props. He could have stalled the last 20 seconds against Ness and been a natl champ. We've seen it a lot of times before. But he didn't. He said beat me if you can I'm right here. I loved that and I was never a Dennis fan until that moment.

I agree. I'm not a big Iowa fan but I had A LOT of respect for Dennis after that.
