Jake Tanenbaum of Kansas and Californian’s Travis Rasmussen, Geoff Doss, Steven Vasquez and Nick Fisher join Holloway and DesRoches. Holloway is also a two-time Brute-adidas national champion. The Mustangs begin their season on Nov. 5 with the Green vs. Gold intrasquad match at 6:30 p.m. in Mott Gym. Tyler Holloway Brookfield HS / Brookfield, MO Two-time Brute-adidas national champion and four-time Missouri State champion. Compiled a 148-3 prep record (wrestled at 103-pounds as a freshman, 130 as a sophomore and 135 as a junior and senior). Was named the 2008 Class I State Wrestler of the Year and set his high school record for takedowns and wins. Jake Tanenbaum Blue Valley North HS / Leaward, KS Compiled a 158-21 record and placed at the state championships in each of his four years as a prep. Took third at the Brute-adidas National Championships as a freshman. Finished his high school career ranked No. 10 in the nation at 125-pounds according to Intermatwrestle.com. Holds his high school record for three-point near falls. Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5. Ryan DesRoches Riverside HS / Deer Park, WA Des Roches is a three-time Washington State champion. He compiled a 134-16 record in four years as a varsity wrestler. Won his regional twice and district three times. Went undefeated in his junior year. Won the Tri-State Championship in 2006 at 160-pounds. DesRoches won two titles at the USAW Freestyle State Championships and was a USAW Greco Roman State Champion in 2007. Was also a three-time letterman in football. Travis Rasmussen Bakersfield HS / Bakersfield, CA Finished second at 145-pounds at the California State Championships as a senior in 2008. In that year, Rasmussen compiled a 44-4 record. He started the year ranked No. 14 nationally in his weight class by Wrestling USA Magazine. Was a Doc Buchanan Champion as a senior and also won the Five-Counties League title. As a junior, was ranked No. 15 nationally amongst juniors by Wrestling USA Magazine and No. 10 by Intermatwrestle.com. Geoff Doss Los Gatos HS / Los Gatos, CA Compiled a career record of 144-32 in four years of wrestling. Doss was third at the State Championships as a senior and also placed sixth as a junior. He holds high school records for wins and takedowns in a season and also holds the career takedown record. Won the CCS Sportsmanship Award. Won his league championship three times and was a two-time CCS champion. Steven Vasquez Central Catholic HS / Modesto, CA Vasquez was a three-time state qualifier and placed second as a senior in 2008. He was a three-time California Freestyle State Champion and also won titles at the California Greco State Championships, California Cadet Freestyle State Championships and Western Regional Freestyle Championships. Also was a two-time California Triple Crown winner. Had a record of 45-2 as a senior and compiled a 3.56 cumulative GPA. Nick Fisher Clovis West HS / Fresno, Calif. Compiled a career record of 148-36 in four years as a varsity wrestler. As a senior, finished third at the State Championships and finished 48-4, including 28 falls. Fisher was a California Cadet National Team member in 2006 and 2007. Also made the National Junior Duals Team in 2007. |
