I hope that is true.
The Iowa board explanation seems a little too dismissive of the evidence. If this happened prior to deer season, how do you explain the bucket of still fresh blood, the deer hair, and the spotlight? Seems a little far-fetched that its left over from last year. Add the fact that he's from Montana, where the men are men are the sheep are nervous, and I think you've got a problem. Someone on another board mentioned being taken on an illegal coon hunt while on a recruiting visit. Sounds like Iowa may have a systemic problem. One bright spot, though, Tom Brands' house wasn't searched. THAT would have been bad.
I don't really care about this situation (other than the ammo for jokes that it provides) but if I did I'd find it kind of difficult to just completely discount the evidence that has been collected based off the singular dismissive message board testimony of someone called "thom67".
I agree. Some of us, myself included, were too fast to place blame. Though the article was pretty persuasive. However, I'm not ready to place a halo over his head just because Thom67 says to do so. I'll wait until the smoke clears before I make my final judgement on this issue. It still smells a little rancid for me.

I do care about this situation, and I go on record as strongly disapproving of poaching. But I also think this post from thom6 reminds us all not to rush to judgment before we have the facts. I'm not saying that I have any facts. I don't. None of us here have collected or seen any evidence, This is all just hearsay at this point.
I take allegations like this seriously, and if someone in Iowa DNR lied or willfully leaked a falsehood to tarnish Zadick's reputation, then they should lose their job. I remember when JRob was accused of some real estate shenanigans which blew over once the facts were known. Let's not rush to judgment (again.)
Deer hair could be there for years - especially in a barn. The blood could be from any countless number of legal animals (steer, goat, who knows what he's got on his property)... or maybe he likes to freeze deer blood and thaw it out before season to perform hunting rituals in his barn... :P
Since we don't see anyone being charged yet, several days after a DNR raid, its probably either very serious or the DNR screwed up.
Thom usually provides solid info; he has some friends inside the Iowa program. While I am not claiming his account is true or false; just pointing out he usually has solid information. I will reserve comment until the facts are in.
I haven't even bothered to ask anyone about the story....
